Dear Families of the MS 104 Community:

I hope everyone's day is going well thus far. A reminder to all families that there is NO SCHOOL for students tomorrow due to Veterans Day. Students are not to report to school tomorrow and will return on Monday, November 14th. Veterans Day is an important holiday as it is a day for us to pay respect to all service members, past and present, who have protected our way of life. To all of the service members and their loved ones in our school community and beyond, I thank you for your all that you do and the sacrifices you have made for us all.

As a reminder, our Adults Only 80s Dance is on Friday, November 18th! We are working to ensure that we have enough goodies and beverages for our guests so if you have not yet purchased a ticket and are planning on coming, we encourage you to purchase your ticket today! Tickets are $30 plus $3.46 for service fees. All proceeds go to the PTA fund which is used to support our students and staff in variety of ways. Most importantly, this will be a great way to meet other members of our school community while have a fun time! This our first event like this for families since January, 2020! I am excited to bring the school community together again.

An Update on Jupiter

I recently announced that we are utilizing the Jupiter platform for our electronic gradebook system. An automated email was sent out to all families for which an email address was listed in the DOE system inviting them to access their child's account. I have learned from some families that they did not see the email in their inbox but then found it in the junk or spam folder of their email.

If you have not received the Jupiter email invitation as of this time, please be sure to search your junk and spam folders to ensure it is not there.

In addition, last week students of families that had not yet logged on to their accounts were provided with a paper invitation. Please check with your child to see if they have this invitation as well.

If you are still unable to access your account, please contact your grade level supervisor for support.



Parent Teacher Conferences Follow Up

Last week, we held our afternoon and evening Parent Teacher Conferences. Overall, I have heard that families were able to access their meetings fairly easily. That being said, I am aware of some instances in which technological issues caused some families to be disconnected from a meeting without being able to reconnect to the teacher. I do apologize for these instances as I am aware of the busy schedules of our families and the efforts that were made by you all to partake in these important conversations.

For those families that were disconnected during a meeting, were unable to sign up for a time slot due to all slots being filled, or missed your meeting time, you may reach out to the teacher/s directly to arrange another time to connect. To find our staff directory, click here.

As an additional reminder, parent engagement time is scheduled every Tuesday morning from 7:40 to 8:20. Families can contact teachers directly to arrange for a time on a Tuesday morning to meet with teachers throughout the year.
