A LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear BBHS Parents,
Today, I officially informed my faculty that I will not be returning to my principal position at BBHS in 2021-22. I informed them on May 11 that I had been pondering what the good Lord had in store for me next.
COVID created havoc for sure, but it also guided me to reflect on my life, my purpose and my next chapter. That being said, with my wife's health being challenged by covid, becoming a grandpa, having two adult children in Tennessee, and simply reflecting....Patty and I are both retiring from education. We both have prayed for months as signs entered our minds and to feel at peace with this major decision.
I take this opportunity to tell you I was so blessed during my tenure to work with many amazing people -- students, faculty, clergy, and YOU! I thoroughly enjoyed and cherished our time together as we partnered to provide the best experiences for your student. So from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for the memories I'll have with your child during my seven years leading BBHS.
Please accept this communication as sincere, thank you for being loving and supportive parents. You all were awesome. God Bless.
In partnership with Christ,
DRidder

CLASS OF 2022 - SENIOR PORTRAITS
Don’t forget to make your appointment this summer to have your senior yearbook picture taken. Call Prestige at 578-0110 ext. 2 to schedule your appointment. Once the school year begins in the fall, school commitments begin and scheduling is harder. The yearbook deadline is Dec. 16, 2021.
Pictures to be used in the senior section of the Bishop Brossart High School yearbook and on the composite (picture to hang on the school wall) must meet the following requirements:
- The proof must be taken at Prestige/Lifetouch Photography Studio. Please note – you are not required to purchase any final pictures from Prestige… only to attend a yearbook photograph sitting. There is a fee for this one sitting.
-
Boys must wear a coat and tie for one pose. That pose will appear in the yearbook and on the class composite. Other outfits for subsequent poses are fine.
-
Girls must use the provided drape for one pose. That pose will appear in the yearbook and on the class composite. Other outfits for subsequent poses are fine.
- Backgrounds for the yearbook and composite poses cannot have decorations such as flowers, etc. that would be inconsistent with other senior pictures.

2021 FALL SPORTS
As everyone heads into the summer, just a reminder of some important dates for student athletes and their families as the start of Fall sports season is right round the corner.
- The 2021-22 athletic paperwork packet will be available via the school website, the front office, the AD office, or via head coaches beginning the week of June 1.
- All athletic physicals and consent to play forms must be updated every 13 months, per KHSAA rule. Please consult your physician, or the AD office for the status of a Fall athlete if you are unsure.
- The KHSAA and Diocese of Covington dead period for this year is June 25 through July 11. All BBHS teams and coaches will honor this "down time" for players and their families to enjoy their family and friends. Student athletes are not permitted to use any BBHS facility or have contact with a BBHS coach during this time.
- Fall sports practices may begin on July 15 for the following sports: golf, soccer, cross country, cheer, dance, volleyball.
- Practice for football may begin on July 12 (per KHSAA acclimation to gear rule).
- During June and July, Brossart offers many camps and other opportunities for all prospective and current students, that all follow the KHSAA and Diocese rules. Please contact the AD office or front office for more information on these opportunities.
Thank you to all of our coaches, who do an exceptional job with their team and programs. And most importantly, thank you to all of our student athletes and families for their unbelievable support of Bishop Brossart .
Any incoming freshman or student who wishes to play a fall sport for the first time and has not been in contact with the coach, please be sure to reach out in June to let them know your child is interested in playing. (Most sports are accepting players in 7th and 8th grade as well.)
