Your children voiced some of their concerns
about returning to the campus

Mrs. Kirsten Born recently presented the weekly Friday chapel program, and after telling the story of the battle between David and Goliath, she asked the students this pertinent question: What is your biggest battle right now?

Here are what some of their "battles" are:

  • Not being able to hug friends after being away from campus for so long.
  • Having to wear masks for more than an hour.
  • Being on Zoom for many hours.
  • Being on the playground but not being able to use the playground equipment.
  • Missing family members because of quarantine.
  • Fearful of getting sick or causing loved ones to get sick, grandparents especially.
  • Hearing so much conflict about politics.

Our children are more perceptive than we often think. Listen to your children so you can help them be as carefree as possible during this unusual times.

Want to help the school without spending an extra dime!
Here's how: Whenever you make an Amazon purchase go to "smile.amazon.com" instead of just "amazon.com". The first time you go there you will find in the top left corner a list of charitable organizations. Just sign up to make your donations to "South Bay Christian School". You won't pay any more for your product, but the school will receive a percentage of your purchase. This is definitely win-win.

Taking the Anxiety Out of Kids Returning to School After Distance-Learning
Be sure to tune in to this month's timely topic as students are beginning to return to the classroom. Join the Zoom meeting this Thursday evening, April 8, at 6:30.
A New Roof is in Progress
SBCS is getting a new roof in preparation for solar panel installation. For the next two weeks please continue to follow our revised arrival procedure by dropping your child off at the lunch area gate for temperature and contact tracing process.
Need some extra money next year? (Who doesn't?)
Refer a new family to SBCS and if they stay for at least six months, you'll have $400 tuition credit. Woo-hoo! As a bonus, this new student(s) will have a top-notch education for which you'll be thanked. Winners all around!

Do you have outgrown uniforms at home?
Kids grow fast, and as they get taller, their uniforms just don't work anymore. Consider dropping off laundered uniform pieces that are in still good shape in the school office. Another family will greatly appreciate it.
