Even More Resources for Restarting Operations in New Tool KitCheck out MMA’s new and expanded MFG Tools for Safe and Productive Operations, an interactive tool kit integrating leading safety standards for manufacturers with direct links to more than 30 member-provided products and services to help your company scale up operations in the new normal. Now that Governor Gretchen Whitmer has given manufacturing the green light to get back to work, this enhanced tool kit can help you design a path to safely and productively restart your operations.
The MFG Tools for Safe and Productive Operations tool kit condenses safety standards articulated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and includes best practices put forth by the State of Michigan and MMA’s diverse membership on topics ranging from decontamination, information technology, social distancing and virus mitigation to financial resources and supply chain management, training and communication, locating personal protective equipment (PPE), and legal and loss control services. We have watched with awe as manufacturers all across the state have worked to pull themselves up in the face of this pandemic, but you don’t have to create a restart strategy on your own. The resources available in this tool kit can offer solutions and viable partners for challenges you are going to face in the weeks and months ahead. This evolving document will have new resources and guidelines added just as our situation surrounding COVID-19 and a safe and productive workplace evolves. If you have expertise or resources to share, contact MMA’s Delaney McKinley at 517-487-8530 or [email protected]. New & NotableLearn How Work Share Can Help Your CompanyMichigan’s Work Share program allows employers to put employees on a reduced work schedule and pay a portion of their wages, all while the employee collects partial unemployment benefits. Work Share can apply to current workers or to bring back employees that are currently on unemployment, helping employers to restart their business as workplace restrictions are lifted.
In the face of the many challenges facing manufacturing employers, Work Share is a critical program that can help you manage payroll costs, control unemployment tax liability and ramp up production. If your company has successfully used Michigan’s Work Share program, contact MMA’s Delaney McKinley at 517-487-8530 or [email protected] to share your experience with your fellow manufacturers.
