New Community Partner at the Encino Farmers Market eTruism
A great way to shop, support the programs of ONEgeneration and contribute to our environment! eTruism is a local nonprofit that upcycles new clothing from manufacturers that have been discontinued or are off-season and distributes these clothes to nonprofit agencies. 100% of their in-kind clothing donations are distributed to their partners. Their goal is to provide funding opportunities for these nonprofits to support their work in the community through a retail opportunity at bargain prices. All new garments at our Encino Farmers Market eTruism Clothing Corner will be $10 and accessories only $5. Staffed by our long-time volunteers of National Charity League, San Fernando Valley Chapter.
In additions to items available at our market, items in bulk will be distributed to ONEgeneration’s community partners & those who are homeless or job searching in need of new clothing supporting their successful transitions.
ONEgeneration is excited and honored to work with eTruism and represent their good work weekly at the Sunday Encino Farmers Market. Please stop by this Clothing Corner located near our Bagel Booth (starting in June!) and check out how you can help to support our programs while supporting eTruism’s mission to rid our landfills of new clothing and retail items.

Special Tax Deductions for 2021 Charitable Donations
Did you know that you can deduct charitable donations made in 2020 up to $300 if you take the standard deduction? The CARES Act gave individual taxpayers who take the standard deduction, the ability to also take a deduction if they made a donation to a qualifying nonprofit. This amount goes up to $600 for married couples filing jointly for donations made in 2021. This is a temporary incentive to encourage contributions to nonprofits hit hard during the pandemic.
To learn more, click on this link to an AARP article which explains the Care Act provision.
To take advantage of this special deduction, please consider making a contribution to ONEgeneration today.
