A Message from Pastor Austin
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.  For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,  and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
Colossians 1:15-20

“Been there, done that!”

You have probably heard the popular phrase before. There is great comfort when someone shares their experience with you. Maybe you were once a new employee when a long-time veteran of the industry told you they have been through something similar. Maybe you are awaiting a surgery and a friend tells you the ups, downs, ins and outs of recovery. Maybe it is a past mess-up that a family member uses to prevent the young teenager from making the same painful mistakes they did.

We all survive various trials and tribulations throughout our lives, and it is so good to share these experiences with one another. It calms the soul knowing that someone you know has walked in familiar shoes, and survived similar storms.

But when it comes to enduring the cross for your salvation… well nobody but Christ Jesus himself can lay claim to that. Jesus does know what it’s like to be persecuted, unjustly accused, tortured and murdered. Jesus does know what it’s like for a friend to die, or a loved one to abandon him in his hour of need. Jesus also knows exactly what you are going through right now. It is Jesus that fed the thousands, calmed the storm with a couple words, and raised Lazarus and a little girl with simple instructions, “Lazurus come out,” and “Little girl get up.”  Have you raised someone from the dead lately? Jesus can declare, “Been there done that.”

The Apostle Paul proclaims...

“For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,  and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross."

No matter what you are going through today, know that Jesus is not only with you now, but that he conquered everlasting and eternal death in the future. In Christ, your sins are forgiven. Jesus took your sins upon himself and gave you his righteousness.

So tonight when you pillow your head, rest well my friends and fellow redeemed, because Jesus made peace by the blood of his cross- FOR YOU.

Jesus is Sufficient.
Join us Sunday as we wrap up our sermon series "Sufficient."

I can't wait!

Austin
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
