Ministry Highlight: Sanctity of Life Sunday
Sunday, January 23 has been designated as Sanctity of Life Sunday. On January 13, 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation designating January 22 as the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day. On January 22, 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the Roe vs. Wade case that a state law which banned abortions, except to save the life of the mother, was unconstitutional. The ruling made abortion legal in many circumstances and essentially legalized abortion-on-demand in all 50 states. Churches around the United States use this day to celebrate God’s gift of life, commemorate the many lives lost to abortion, and commit themselves to protecting human life at every stage.
In God’s providence there are many different Christian organizations who welcome individuals and groups who want to get involved in the Right to Life movement. Together they provide options for anyone who wants to be a part of this work to add their support through prayer, political action, personal interaction, or provision for women who feel they have no choice but to end their pregnancies.

Here are a few of the local and national organizations that would welcome your willingness to work with them to rescue women in crisis and the children whose lives depend on their decisions.

Sunday School
We hope you are able to join us during this new Sunday School semester with new class offerings. All Sunday School classes begin at 9:00 am. We have a variety of classes. Our classes will run on a 13-week, 7-week or 6-week schedule, as noted in each description in the Sunday School booklet that can be found in the worship center. You can also read about the class offerings on our website by clicking here. We hope you will find a class that will benefit your relationship with Christ and connect you with others.

Our pastors are looking forward to hosting a time of fellowship and prayer each Sunday morning as we begin class. Regular discipleship and fellowship is a vital part of learning to stand on truth and walk in grace together. If you have any questions about Sunday School, please email info@christcovenant.org.
Elder and Deacon Nominations
Last Day for Nominations is Sunday, January 23
Would you prayerfully consider who you believe could serve our church well as an elder or deacon? All nominees must be male and a member of our church for at least two years by his election (June 2022). The nomination form gives additional attributes of elder and deacon to consider as you are thinking of men in the congregation that will serve our church well. Forms are available at the Information Desk in the Worship Center or online by clicking here. Nominations will be received until Sunday, January 23. Thank you!
Monthly Day of Prayer
Monday, January 24
All are invited to participate in the Monthly Day of Prayer on Monday, January 24. There are two ways you can participate. One is to come in-person for your prayer time to room 105 in the worship center anytime between 7:30 am - 9:00 pm. Prayer guides are provided for you in the prayer room. Another option is to pick a time slot and pray where you are, whether that’s at home or at work. The day is divided into 30-minute segments for individuals to sign up and pray for supported workers and for the needs of the congregation. You can select the time that best fits your schedule by clicking here. We also hope you will take time to submit your confidential prayer requests either online by clicking here or by email at prayer@christcovenant.org. Prayer cards may be found in the pews and may be turned in at one of the offering boxes located inside the sanctuary by the main exits. Your pastors and staff are continually praying for you!
