Upcoming Celebration of New Ministry

The people of St. Andrew’s By-the-Sea, Nags Head are pleased to announce a Celebration of their New Ministry with the Rev'd Nathan Finnin whom the Right Rev'd Robert S. Skirving, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of East Carolina will institute as Rector on Saturday, June 5, 2021.

Resources & Events for Ministry & Faith Formation
Embracing Change

Beginning with the disciples' experience in Acts 2 on the day of Pentecost, this 4 part series will examine the past year and how we have changed as church communities and as Christian individuals. This series will continue each Sunday in June via Zoom.

Weeks 1 through 3 will be lead by parishioners from Christ Church and St. Paul's along with a clergy member from their congregation. Elisabeth (Lisa) Kimball, Ph. D., and the Rev'd Patricia M. Lyons, D. Min. will lead week 4.

This class will be offered on June 6, 13, 20, & 27th on Zoom. Gathering will begin at 8:50 AM, with class starting at 9:00 AM. The class will wrap up at 9:50 AM, with the Zoom open for those who wish to continue to chat until 10:15 AM.

About our Facilitators:

Elisabeth (Lisa) M. Kimball, Ph.D. is the Associate Dean of Lifelong Learning and the James Maxwell Professor of Lifelong Christian Formation. She is currently directing a 5-year, $1.5M grant project Baptized for Life: An Episcopal Discipleship Initiative in the Lilly Endowment Inc. Called to Lives of Meaning and Purpose Initiative.

The Rev'd Patricia Lyons, D. Min. is currently serving as Affiliative Faculty and Director of Evangelism at the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, VA. She has published numerous articles, sermons and book chapters, including two acclaimed books, "The Soul of Adolescence" and her latest, "Teaching Faith with Harry Potter." Her next book, "What is Evangelism?"

News & Notes Summer Schedule to Begin

As Summer approaches, so does the bi-weekly schedule for News & Notes. After Memorial Day, News & Notes will begin going out every other week rather than every week. This schedule will continue until the Wednesday after Labor Day. Remember to keep this in mind when you send in submissions for communication.
