THE HARVEST IS HERE!
I can't believe they are here! 1,000 copies of our new book The Harvest: A Guide to Vocation Ministry in Education arrived today! After consulting with so many educators, 100’s of hours of writing and rewriting, and countless emails about all things, I am holding this new book!! All glory goes to God!!!
I promise that this didn't come easily, but during the shutdown, each day I prayed for the Holy Spirit to inspire me as I did not want to waste precious time. I actually wrestled with Him on this, too, because I did NOT want to write another book. Anyone who has attempted this feat understands why! But I knew it was needed for Vocation Ministry and the Catholic Church to inspire our youth and young adults to discern God’s will in their lives!
Please pray for all those who will receive this book that it may inspire them to create a culture of vocations in their classrooms and campus ministries! St. Alphonsus Liguori, pray for us!

PRIESTHOOD SUNDAY – Celebrated September 25 & 26
This is a perfect time for your parish, school, and classroom to start planning how you are going to affirm your priest!
Each fall Vocation Ministry helps guide parishioners in showing their priests appreciation. This can take a variety of forms, from a note or prayer to a more complicated reception for all parishioners. No matter the form, assuring the priests of the gratitude or adults and children will stay with him long after Priesthood Sunday.
You can find way to make your priest feel special with the ideas below and resources at Vocationministry.com.
PARISHES
Bulletin Blurb:
Please join the Vocation Ministry today Priesthood Sunday in praying for our priests, praising God for their courage and their generosity. Also, please take a moment after Mass to fill out a spiritual bouquet, which is an offering of prayer for one or both of our priests. Let us show Fr. A and Fr. B our encouragement and gratitude in thoughts and deeds. God bless our priests!

Ideas:
  • Encourage parishioners to pray for your priest. Here is a prayer card specifically designed for this day.
  • Coordinate a coffee and donut reception following Masses
  • Include the Priesthood Sunday banner in front of the church
  • Include a biography of your priest in the bulletin
  • Have everyone sign a BIG card for your priest. Your parish may be so large that each Mass has its own BIG card. Great! Then display them at the donut and coffee reception on that Sunday.
  • Build him up and let him feel the gratitude and love from your parishioners.
  • Gather a picture of when your priest(s) was younger and share it with your parishioners in the bulletin, church email newsletter, or on a poster.
  • Ask your priest ahead of time to fill out the Get to Know Your Priest Questionnaire to know what he would like best. Share his answers in bulletin blurbs leading up to this day or share them all at once on a science fair board on Priesthood Sunday.
