To the Pace Community:
I wanted to share with the Pace Community important leadership changes within the Safety and Security team.

At the end of August, Barry Tang, Interim Director of Safety and Security on the New York City Campus, decided to return home to Florida to be with his family. Barry has been a valuable member of the Safety and Security team since he started in April of 2019. During his time here, Barry was extremely visible on campus, especially during the pandemic, and has worked on many security and related projects for the University. Barry will continue working for the University remotely on a part-time basis to complete several projects he has spearheaded. Please join me in wishing Barry the best of luck in his future endeavors.

The Safety and Security department is delighted to announce that Michael White has joined the University community as the New York City Director of Safety and Security. Michael comes to Pace after a 20-year career in Peace Enforcement with the NYPD, where he rose through the ranks and retired as a Lieutenant. He started his academic career at the University of Scranton, where he obtained a BS in Criminal Justice, obtained his MA in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and received an MPA from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University. Michael is an adjunct professor, an active member of the United States Coast Guard, and a certified emergency medical technician.

We are also delighted to welcome Elliott Rodriguez as the new daytime security manager on the New York City Campus. Elliott comes to Pace with over 20 years’ experience in safety and security. He is retired from the Co-op City Department of Public Safety and was the Lead Campus Safety Supervisor and Operations Manager for SSC Inc., the professional uniformed security for Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY. Elliott holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Manhattanville College.

In addition, Todd Brech, former daytime security manager, who has worked at Pace University for over 10 years, has decided to transition to the position of midnight security manager.

The addition and reallocation of this talented group of individuals allows the Department of Safety and Security to continue their mission to create and maintain a safe campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Please join us in welcoming Michael and Elliott to Pace University.
Sincerely,
Vincent Beatty
Executive Director Safety and Security
