United Moments with UWYC
Kim's Corner

Desmund Tutu once said, “Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” What a privilege it is to be able to give food to those who are hungry, to visit those who are sick, encourage those who feel discouraged, and financially support organizations like United Way. We can be the light and a flicker of hope to those in need.

One way to provide this hope and support is to create a Charitable Gift Annuity with United Way of Yellowstone County. Here are some of the benefits:
  • 40% tax credit for Montana taxpayers.
  • Stock or mutual funds are wonderful endowment contributions!
  • Donors may reduce their taxable income by transferring IRA contributions directly to United Way.

Would you like more information on serving our community through planned giving or supporting our endowment? I would welcome the conversation to find the best strategy for you. Call me at (406) 272-8501.
It's time for the annual Barnes & Noble Holiday Book Drive! The drive is ending earlier that usual this year, so make sure get your shopping done early and help put books in the hands of local children.
Days Of Caring 2021
Companies/groups or individuals must sign-up in order to receive information about specific Remote/Virtual projects that include opportunities to make things (T-shirts to Bags, Bags, Bags, and Brighten a Day) collect things (Sock It to ‘Em) and learn things that keep on giving (In Their Shoes, and When They Can’t Remember.) There will be NO LIMIT to the number of participants or the number of activities a business/group or individual may join.
Thank you to the ExxonMobil volunteers who helped beautify our property!

New Giving Program for Local and Small Businesses!
United Way of Yellowstone County invites local and small businesses to participate in promoting lasting, positive change for all in our local community by joining the UNITED 365 Business Circle.

Business owners know the value of a strong community. So much depends on it! It determines the status of our local economy and our livelihoods. It defines our lifestyles, our welfare and ultimately our futures. It affects the ability of customers to afford services and products. For a dollar a day, or $365 a year, businesses can become a member of the UNITED 365 Business Circle and pave a path for our community to grow stronger and thrive.

GOLD STAR RECIPIENTS
Thanks to these indivudals and companies who have gone above and beyond to help further our mission in Yellowstone County!
Amity Malberg
Amity Malberg, former employee of UWYC was instrumental in getting our Success Mentoring program up and running. Although she has moved on to new adventures, she remains an active mentor and lends her knowledge, expertise, connections and resources to continue to strengthen and advance the program.
April Keippel
April is always thinking about how partnerships can help create a better experience. For example, recently she called to suggest having one of the volunteers in the Foster Grandparents program participate in Success Mentoring. She just wanted to have options for her volunteer if Foster Grandparenting was no longer going to work out.

She is also a proponent of 211 and has helped make connections in Miles City with Holy Rosary Healthcare.

And in general, she’s awesome!

St. Vincent Healthcare - St. Vincent Healthcare Foundation

IT'S CAMPAIGN TIME
Every year, we encourage the entire community to gather funds, knowledge, and passion to address immediate needs regarding education, financial stability, and health. We organize and lead hundreds of organizations in the fight against homelessness, hunger, drug abuse, and kids dropping out of school.

You are invited to be a part of the solution and join us by running a Workplace Campaign this fall!

The Workplace Giving Campaign is a continued opportunity to position your organization as a philanthropic leader in Yellowstone County, and we hope you will join us!
