NEWS AND EVENTS
Class of 2020
Senior Padre Profile Project

We are creating a web page dedicated to the Class of 2020. We will be highlighting our seniors and the incredible achievements, memories and special experiences they have had here at Serra.

We are asking all members of the Class of 2020 to complete our senior profile form and answer a brief series of questions. The student's senior portrait will serve as the thumbnail to his profile.

Each one of our seniors has made their mark here at Serra and we are eager to showcase our phenomenal Padres!

It would be very special to have participation from the entire Class of 2020.
Serra’s Got Talent Contest for Seniors and Moms/Special Person

Calling all seniors and their moms or special persons! We know many of you are disappointed that we weren’t able to hold our annual senior fashion show, but that doesn’t mean we can’t improvise! This is a call-out to all who would like to participate in Serra’s Got Talent! This is for seniors only.

Senior Padres, grab your moms or special persons and create a video of up to 45 seconds in length - you can do a Tik Tok, walk the CatWalk, do a dance, present a verbal tribute, sing a song, do a spoof … be creative! This is your time to shine!
Please submit your videos by April 29 to be a part of this memorable virtual montage!
Serra Strategic Planning Survey to be Delivered Thursday via Email

Please be on the lookout for our strategic planning survey! The Serra High School strategic planning process includes research through interviews, data analysis and surveys. We want to hear from our parent community so that we can assess Serra’s strengths and challenges as we consider how we drive toward a bold vision. On Thursday, you will receive an invitation to take one of two parent surveys. Half of you will receive our annual performance survey that asks parents to help us evaluate our academic, spiritual and extra curricular activities. Half of you will receive a strategic planning survey that will ask you questions about technology use, communication, advancement and student life. Both surveys will help inform our strategic planning, and we look forward to your insights. Thank you, in advance, for your participation.

Mass of Gratitude for Frontline Workers in the Serra Community

Many of our students, alumni and Serra parents are working as healthcare workers, emergency service personnel and other essential workers in the current COVID-19 crisis. Our Serra community supports you in these challenging and uncertain times.

We invite all those who work on the frontlines of healthcare and response, as well as our students, parents and alumni to join us for a time of prayer and reflection. We are so grateful to you all for the hard work and dedication you show every day. Please join us in a mass of gratitude for essential workers. Please contact  Billy Byrnes  with any questions or special intentions.

One Love Relationship Series

This Thursday, April 23, the One Love Foundation is teaming up with the Premier Lacrosse League for its Relationship Round Ups Series. Premier Lacrosse League players Scott Ratliff and Marcus Holman will discuss how relationships have impacted their lives, how to deal with heartbreak, and where to lean on friends throughout the ups and downs.

One Love offers an open conversation series on healthy relationship topics including discussions about movies and TV shows. This series provides space for you to ask for advice or learn how to maintain healthy relationships in this new reality, and the chance to hear from leaders within our network and yours.

Catholic Relief Services Collection
During each Lent, students participate in the Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl collection to support the international work of this organization. This year, Lent was different for all of us but the needs of CRS Rice Bowl have only grown due to the pandemic.
Let us find hope in the work that Catholic Relief Services is doing to provide relief around the world during this crisis, particularly in communities that have little to no means to protect and care for their people. We ask you to prayerfully consider if your family might be able to share a few resources. In these difficult times we hesitate to ask for any monetary donations, yet there is critical need in this global pandemic.
This article from America Magazine highlights the incredible work CRS is doing to fight Covid-19 in the poorest and most vulnerable countries. If you would like to donate something, go to CRS.org . Remember all Rice Bowl donations are tracked by zip code and 25 percent of every donation comes back to our archdiocese for local hunger programs.
