Curbside Services Process for Patrons
Curbside Services have resumed at our library as of Monday, May 4. The staff at our library has processed more than 700 items for our patrons locally this past week, as our statewide consortium is still not processing requests at this time.

When processing a request for an item within our library, patrons can do this one of three ways:
  • Request items directly from the catalog on our website and place a hold for them from your mobile device or home computer.
  • Email your requests to us at info@tippcitylibrary.org
  • Phone us at 937-667-3826 and press 3 on the automated menu from your home phone, cell phone or from the phone that has been recently installed at the rear entrance of the library. This number will connect you to someone at the library desk who can assist you with your requests.
The staff at our library are processing requests as quickly as possible; however, requests are typically processed within 2-3 business days. Please be patient with our library staff when processing a request, as we are limiting the number of staff members within our building at one time in order to follow recommendations and guidelines made for the State of Ohio by Governor Mike DeWine and Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton. You will be notified via email or phone once the request is checked out to you and is waiting on the shelf ready for pickup. Requests are available for pickup in the north (or rear) entrance of the library, in alphabetical order by last name.

If you do not have a library card, for your convenience, we now offer an Online Card Application on our website. You must be 18 years or older to request a library card online.

While the front doors will continue to be locked, the front and rear drop boxes are available for any items that need to be returned. We will also continue to receive items from other libraries within our library consortium.

Our library staff is following safety precautions to protect themselves as well as our community members to help stop the spread of COVID-19. As always, we will continue to adjust our services for what is best for the community, having the safety of our staff and patrons at the forefront of the decision making process with our Board of Trustees and library director. We all look forward to the day when our library doors are open to the public and we can all gather together again in our community space, but for now, we will continue to make adjustments to our services and keep you informed through our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram , along with our newsletter and website . If you have any questions, email us at info@tippcitylibrary.org or call the library during our Curbside Services hours of operation at (937) 667-3826.

Hours for Curbside Services:
  • Monday through Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Statewide Delivery Update
Based on a recent message sent to our library Director on behalf of the State of Ohio Interim Executive Director of the State Library Board, Bill Morris, the statewide delivery service will not resume again until June 1, 2020, at the earliest. Libraries around the State of Ohio are currently making plans to reopen, all having various levels of services offered to patrons. Mr. Morris stated, "In order for the network to resume, at least 85% of the libraries must be open and accepting deliveries. This includes university libraries. Currently, only 16% of libraries are open to start accepting deliveries." While our library continues to accept returns from other libraries within our consortium, we are not processing holds from other libraries at this time. We will continue to keep you posted on this ever-changing situation--stay connected with our library by viewing our Facebook and Instagram pages, and also our newsletter and website .

May Photo Challenge
May is National Photography Month! Officially recognized by Congress in 1987 as a month-long event, and having the American Photography Association as one of the primary organizations continuing the tradition, this month is marked throughout the country by photography contests, festivals, exhibits and other activities.

Our library is celebrating National Photography Month by inviting teens to share their best pictures with us over the next three weeks. Teens in grades 6th through 12th are welcome to send us your pics each week staying within the theme of that week and either via email at info@tippcitylibrary.org or through our Remind app . Photos must be appropriate, containing no profanity or offensive language, and will be shared on our Instagram page crediting the photographer. Each Sunday, watch for a separate Instagram post strictly for voting on that week's photos. The results of Sunday's votes will be posted on our Instagram page on Monday, along with the next week's theme. There will be no prizes to be picked up for this contest, just bragging rights! The themes for each week are:
  • May 11 is National Eat What You Want Day, so this week, send us a pic of the FOOD YOU LOVE.
  • May 22 is National Road Trip Day, so next week, send us a photo of SCENERY AND DESTINATIONS.
  • May 25 is Geek Pride Day, so during this final week of our photo contest, send us a your best pic displaying GEEK PRIDE.
