EDUCATION SESSION

Inflation and Growth: Macro Outlook and Investment Trends

Changes in global supply chains and commodity market dynamics, as well as in geopolitics, point to an era with new structural trends. The post-covid economic recovery has been marked by a level of inflation not seen in the developed world since the 1970’s. Central banks are raising interest rates to combat inflation, which is creating headwinds to the growth outlook. Recession risks are rising, especially in Europe. There have been few places for investors to seek safety, as equities and bonds are both yielding negative returns.

Amid this turbulent environment, market professionals also face further fundamental issues such as:

  • Investment trends and regulatory requirements across ESG/Sustainability/Impact Investing
  • Increased digitisation of the sector and the dynamic of active vs passive investing
  • Talent agenda and the impetus to increase diversity in the investment sector

Bring your questions as we take a deeper dive into the macroeconomic outlook, while navigating these tempestuous investment waters. Consider how these themes may impact investment strategy for your clients, your firm and your own portfolio in the year ahead.

Share your perspectives and network with peers over drinks and canapes after the panel discussion.
