President's Update from Scott McGolpin

I hope this month's letter finds all of you, your families, and colleagues safe and healthy from the pandemic we are all experiencing. Here in Santa Barbara County, we are experiencing increased COVID-19 cases at the moment which has unfortunately required the Governor to initiate the second round of business closures across California. My hope is this round will not be as long as the first as small businesses within our community just cannot bear much more of this
.

As you may know, Monday was NACE's 64th Birthday. What began as a small group of people who met as an aside at a National Association of Counties Meeting 64 years ago, has turned into an organization its founders can certainly be proud of. The past week few weeks have illustrated this statement emphatically.

Last week, a delegation of NACE members from 6 states were invited to the White House for an event hosted by President Trump on the South Lawn. This was memorable for many reasons, but two resonate with me. First, being invited to the White House is not something one gets to do every day, but the second reason reminds me how far we have come as an organization. In 2020 alone, NACE members have been invited to an event with the President of the United States twice, had meetings with numerous Executive Branch agencies in the White House, and participated in events with congressional committee chairmen. Also, it is not every day we see the White House retweeting NACE!

ExeVision, Inc.--Proud 2020 Gold Member of NACE

As a new NACE sponsor, we thought it might be helpful to provide a quick overview of ExeVision. This is ExeVision's first year as a NACE sponsor following a great experience as an exhibitor at the Annual Conference in Wichita. ExeVision is the provider of affordable, web-based Project Development software solutions for county transportation agencies.

Founded in 1994 as a custom software development company, ExeVision has focused exclusively on providing road construction software solutions to state departments of transportation since 2008. In recent years, ExeVision has answered the needs of county transportation agencies to eliminate paper construction processes and take advantage of the same efficient electronic solutions used by state DOTs, but at a fraction of the cost, making it available and cost-effective for just about any county.

ExeVision provides a web-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Construction Project Development solution that efficiently manages construction projects including daily diaries, change orders, pay estimates, placements, field data collection, reporting, etc. As a subscription service, the software application is completely hosted and managed by ExeVision, so no additional overhead is required by the county.

Over the years, ExeVision has helped many agencies upgrade from paper-based, manual construction processes to efficient web-based solutions. For agencies needing electronic bidding, materials management/LIMS, project estimating or civil rights reporting, these too are available as part of the integrated Project Development (iPDWeb) solution.
