Greetings!

Pride Month, Juneteenth, intentionally designed conversations, and spontaneous community rallies and protests...there is no shortage of opportunities to reflect and take action to increase our awareness, sensitivity, inclusion, and equity as individuals and a collective. But it all starts with reflection.

Saturday, June 20th is the Summer Solstice, a day that has been celebrated since ancient time with a variety of rituals to celebrate the sun and the literal light it shines, and to metaphorically align ourselves with our internal light.

In Latin, solstice means "sun standing still," referencing the suns' place in the galaxy as it reaches the midpoint of its progression throughout the year. This year, maybe we can take a few moments during the solstice to stop and reflect on our progress as people and a community. (See blog TRUTH below.)

At WORK_SPACE we strive to be a space where people can come together, perspectives can be shared, and connections can be made. Although our doors are still closed to non-members, our minds and hearts are open. If you are interested in getting support around your professional pursuits, finding ways to share your voice with the community, or eager to explore opportunities to contribute your talents to others, please reach out to us. Think of the summer solstice as a way to stop and reflect, and WORK_SPACE as an avenue to move forward and connect.

Sincerely,
Stacey Jill Zackin

BLOG: ENTREPRENEUR'S ALPHABET
T is for Truth
by: Stacey Zackin, PhD, MSW, PCC - WORK_SPACE Manager

This installment of The Entrepreneur’s Alphabet will be relatively short because it is about truth, and only you know your truth. Only you know what you know what aligns to your values, is faithful to your purpose, and authentic to who you want to be and how you want to live. Click to read more...
“The great enemy of truth is very often not the lie--deliberate, contrived and dishonest--but the myth--persistent, persuasive and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the cliches of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought."
- John F. Kennedy (Commencement Address, Yale Univ., June 11, 1962)

COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS - FRIDAY NIGHTS @ 7PM
Join community members at Equity CT and from across CT as we listen, learn, laugh, and love. This is a zoom call to ask for and offer support, share your struggles and triumphs, and make new friends in a time of social distancing. Things we have shared on the call include: what distance learning looks and feels like for our children (of different ages, in different schools, with different needs), how to connect the makers of facemasks with those in need, how we talk to our kids about COVID-19, compassionate release, and where the heck all of that laundry is coming from.

ISN'T THAT NICE!
"I can't say enough about WORK SPACE! I am a sales professional who works remotely and I recently made the decision to find office space rather than work from home. The staff here is professional, friendly, and super willing to help in all things. The space is beautiful! Not only do I have the freedom to make my spot feel like home, but the artwork around the building is absolutely inspired. Connecting with other members here has been a joy. If you haven't come for a visit, it's your turn!" - Laura Beth Hunley
