It’s been a fantastic week on campus. The faculty and staff are busy preparing the building to welcome back our students and families. We kicked off our in-service week focused on our theme of Joy. Tomball PD spent time on campus training us on school safety. Cardinal DiNardo gave a beautiful homily during the Catholic school’s opening mass, blessing all who have chosen the vocation of Catholic education.
We are so blessed with our faculty and staff who have been called to work at St. Anne Catholic School this year. Our new teachers come to us very qualified and are aligned with the mission of Catholic education in the formation of disciples. They are excited to be a part of our wonderful community. We still have an open Spanish position and middle school ELA position. If you know anyone interested in joining the St. Anne family, please encourage them to call the office.
Empowered by consultation with Archdiocesan leadership, other principals, nurses, parents, medical personnel, and public health officials, we have determined that we will highly recommend masks, but they are optional at this time. We will continue with social distancing, frequent disinfecting, hand sanitizing, contact tracing and quarantining based on symptoms and/or exposure. We feel that it is in the best interest of our school community. Although this decision will be praised by some and disliked by some, we are doing what we feel is most prudent in protecting the health of our St. Anne Catholic School students and staff. We will continually review this decision and revisit these protocols as the year progresses. We appreciate your support and prayers as we venture through these unique times.
Hot lunches will be available beginning Thursday, August 12, through School Eatery and may be ordered in advance from our school website. School Eatery will provide lunches Monday through Thursday. PTO will offer pizza on Fridays beginning after Labor Day. Until then all students will need to bring a lunch from home on Fridays. We know that some of you are waiting for uniforms from Lands’ End, please call the school to see if we have any used uniforms available until your order arrives.
On Tuesday, August 10th, we will have a New Family Welcome in the gym starting at 3:15 pm with Meet the Teacher beginning at 4:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to meet staff and learn more about our school. All families are welcome to attend the New Family Welcome. Our PTO and Dad’s club will be in the gym with information about volunteering. Wednesday is our first day of school with a noon dismissal. Parents of pre-k and kindergarten students who would like to walk their child to the classroom on the first day, may park in front of the church and walk their child into the building. Our first mass of the school year will be on Wednesday, August 18th. Regular uniforms may be worn on the first day of school.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday!
Thank you for choosing St. Anne Catholic School.
Have a blessed weekend.
Sincerely in Christ,
Kendall Shamas
