Patrons and staff who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are not required to wear a mask inside the library. You are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19:
2 weeks after the second shot of Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine
2 weeks after 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 Vaccine
Patrons and staff who are not yet fully vaccinated will need to continue to wear masks inside the library.
We will continue to offer virtual programs and curbside pick-up for your convenience.
Used Book Sales
Two book sales down, two to go! IVPL will be hosting two more book sales in June. Mark your calendars!
In an effort to improve the digital experience for our patrons, IVPL has decided to move our eBooks and eAudiobooks from the Axis 360 platform to our OverDrive website and Libby app.
Why make a change?
We have received concerns and complaints about Axis 360. In researching both platforms, we have concluded that OverDrive/Libby is more stable.
OverDrive/Libby is compatible with more devices.
Having our eBooks and eAudiobooks in one place makes it easier for you to find what you want.
Money! By consolidating into one platform, we will save $3,000 per year—money that we can use to purchase more new econtent.
Stay tuned for more information!
Mobile Printing News
Public printing will not be available at IVPL on June 20 and 21, as we upgrade our system. As part of the upgrade, we are excited to offer mobile printing! As of June 22, you will be able to send print jobs from home or from any mobile device to the library printer through an app or our website. Stay tuned!
Foundation of Friends
The Foundation of Friends is a group of dedicated volunteers that strives to help IVPL grow and serve the community. They work with the Board of Trustees and library staff to provide funds and resources that allow the library to continue to grow along with the needs of the community.
Libraries are so much more than just buildings with books. They are part of the American Dream of a better future for all. Since 1886 our Library has been a front-line institution offering a trusted, welcoming, and friendly mainstay to our community. It is strongly supported by the local municipalities whose elected members recognize the Library’s value to our community.
The Foundation of Friends (FOF) is a group of volunteers within the community who have taken a special interest in the Library and want to ensure its future. This will require strong financial support from us all. These folks realize that the Library is an essential community asset and want to help secure its future.
To meet the needs of the community for the next 25 years, the Library's facilities need significant improvement or replacement. The current space does not allow for future growth. Consequently, a primary role of the FOF is to help inform community members of the Library's value and need for improved space.

President, FOF
Featured Online Resource
Each month we highlight one of the many free online resources that IVPL provides for you, our patrons, as a part of your membership. Up next is BookPage.
BookPage is a monthly book review publication distributed to 400,000 avid readers through subscribing bookstores and public libraries. Their goal is to connect book lovers with their next great read. They cover all types of books—from literary fiction, history and biography to popular genres like romance and mystery—and their book reviews, author interviews and special features are informative and accessible.
The library has been slowly returning to normalcy during my seven months here. Hours and accessibility have increased, something resembling normal services are returning, and I see - and have met - more people!
This has coincided with me also making more time to take advantage of working here at IVPL. I've started to borrow CDs from our extensive music collection. I even found myself buying some things at our last book sale! I have seen and heard how beloved this place is and have now started to experience it myself.
That is why I do this job and have chosen this career path. I know how important IVPL is to the community and want to do my part in providing the best library we can to the Indian Valley.
Your donations help support our staff, programming, and facilities. Every gift – no matter the amount – directly supports the library. Help IVPL continue to serve as a pillar in the community both now and into the future by making a donation today.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I am happy to help.
