Parents and School Communities Come Together for

Parent Leadership Academy

This week hundreds of parent leaders from all GGUSD schools attended the district's Parent Leadership Academy to learn about important topics including cyber safety, new parent education programs and Family Resource Centers. Parents joined with school principals and district administrators to gather important information that they will take back to their school communities. Parents enjoyed hearing from Superintendent Gabriela Mafi, Assistant Superintendent Lorena Sanchez as well as Clayton Cranford, one of the nation’s leading law enforcement educators on online safety for children and families. GGUSD is so grateful for the engagement and partnership of our families! #GGUSDPride

GGUSD Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher Corrine works closely with students and their parents in the classroom. The group also took their first-ever field trip to the pumpkin patch at Tanaka Farms. What a great way to combine learning and fall fun! #GGUSDPride

Woodbury Students Hit the Books!

Woodbury recently participated in Jumpstart's Read for the Record, the world’s largest shared reading experience in which millions of adults and children read the same book on the same day. This year all classes read Nigel and the Moon, purchased by the amazing Woodbury PTSO for each classroom and the school library. It is a story that shares how pride in where we come from can bring shining confidence. Thank you to members of the Garden Grove Police Department who visited the campus and read to the students. #GGUSDpride
