Perseid Meteor Shower
The spectacular Perseid Meteor Shower will peak in the predawn hours of Thursday, Aug. 12 in Michigan. This is one of the best meteor showers of the year, delivering up to 100 meteors per hour at the peak.
August 8: NEW MOON - This is the best time of the month to view galaxies, star clusters, and other faint objects in the night sky because the Moon will not be visible in the night sky since it will be located on the same side of the Earth as the Sun. ☀️
August 22: FULL MOON - The full phase will officially occur on Sunday morning in Michigan, however, the Moon will appear to be full on both Saturday and Sunday night. This Moon is also referred to as the Green Moon, Sturgeon Moon, Red Moon, and Grain Moon.
