During the pandemic, as we all worked to implement the public health guidelines for physical distancing, many of us began to work remotely. This included our Board of Trustees. Typically, our Board of Trustees meets in-person at our District offices every other Tuesday evening to conduct the work of the District in public.
When we shifted our meetings from in-person to online, we allowed people to submit their comments and questions in writing in advance of the Board meeting, and they were all read aloud and into the record at the meeting.
We are changing this practice, effective at the next school board meeting on Tuesday, May 25, and want to make sure that members of our school community – employees, families, students and the community at-large—are aware of the process that can now be used to offer public comments.
