Holy Week and Easter Schedule for 2021
We’re happy to share the 2021 schedule for Holy Week and Easter, for online and in-person worship, which can be found below. We appreciate the strong response to the survey, which helped us shape our schedule to manage the expectations of as many of our members as possible. Most of our in-person seating on Easter Sunday will be in the tent. All in-person services require registration via phone as we continue to limit the numbers at each service as a result of the pandemic. Indoor services will be assigned by lottery, so if you want to worship indoors, have a backup tent service ready in case your name is not selected.

Registration for parishioners opened on Tuesday, March 23 at 9:00 am. Registration will be open to the public as of Friday, March 26.

All in-person services (including the Easter Egg Hunt) require registration via phone. Call 912-638-8683 to register; you MUST speak with a staff member or volunteer to register. Voicemails, texts, and messages will not be accepted. Tent services are first-come, first-served registrations. Indoor services are via lottery; you may select a tent service as a backup when entering the lottery for a particular service. Drive-Through Communion does not require registration. We look forward to worshiping with you in Holy Week and on Easter Sunday!

Mission and Outreach
ECW Tour of Homes Outreach Campaign 2021: Local Women's and Children's Charities Are Still Counting On Us!
This past weekend would’ve been the 67th Annual Tour of Homes at Christ Church. Although Covid-19 prevented us from holding the Tour again this year, the commitment of Tour Organizers and Volunteers to its mission of assisting women and children in need, stands firm.

We ask you to consider donating to the Tour Outreach Fund to support organizations that have come to depend on grants from the Tour. In recent years our total grants reached up to $70,000 per year. With the generosity of Tour supporters, former volunteers, former ticket holders and other members of the community we hope to raise at least half that amount in 2021.

Already, many generous gifts have been received and we are most grateful to those who haved helped us so far!

Please look over the letter from the ECW that you received in the mail for complete details about how you can help.

You can also visit the TOH website to make your gift online at christchurchtourofhomes.org

Tour organizers (ECW and prior year leaders) can be reached by email at [email protected]

The applicant must be from Glynn or McIntosh County and an active Episcopalian. The application deadline is April 21, 2021. Get more information HERE.
Backpack Buddies and the St. Athanasius Food Pantry - Share the Love This Easter With the Gift of Food
This week, we’d like to share some Easter cheer with our young Backpack Buddies by including Easter candy in their weekend food bags. If you can donate bags of small wrapped Easter treats like chocolate eggs, jelly beans, Skittles, Hershey Kisses, lollipops, etc., they would be greatly appreciated! (Our wonderful young volunteer packers can attest to the fact that receiving a little bit of candy along with nutritious food can really brighten one's day! Thank you for all your help, girls!)

Our friends at the St. Athanasius Feed My Sheep Food Pantry could use a few food items to stock their shelves this spring, too. Suggested staples include: Canned Tomatoes, Canned Green Beans, Canned Fruit, Canned Dinners (like Raviolios, Beef Stew, Chicken and Dumplings, etc,) and Full-Sized Boxes of Cereal.

Food donations may be dropped off at the Christ Church Parish House during regular business hours, Tues. - Thurs. 9 am - 5 pm, or Fri. 9 am - 2 pm. Thank you, as always, for your generosity!

Please consider "adopting" a Backpack Buddy. A sponsorship for a child is $100, which will supply the youngster with weekend food bags for the entire school year. You are welcome to donate online HERE, (choose Backpack Program from the drop-down menu), or by check (just mail it to Christ Church, at 6329 Frederica Road St. Simons Island, GA 31522; memo line, Backpack Buddies). If you have any questions about the Backpack Buddies program, please contact Susan Shipman at [email protected].
Book Drive for Burroughs Molette Elementary School - Final Week!
We are still looking for donations of new and gently used books, to give out to some of the young students at Burroughs Molette Elementary School (particularly ages 3 - 8). The books will be used in the classrooms, or delivered to students who are doing virtual learning. If you have books for young children you'd like to donate, please bring them to the church office in the Christ Church Parish House during regular business hours, Tuesday - Thursday, 9 am - 5 pm, or Friday, 9 am - 2 pm. We will be collecting books until Easter Sunday. For more information, please contact Mtr. Ashton at [email protected].
