Coach Jeremy's Notes to the Team

Hey Team,

Wow! We’ve almost made it to the end of the regular season! What?!?!?!?!?!

I was just looking through the pictures Anthony Calderon has taken this season and remembering all it took to get to this point in time. First, Anthony, you are an amazing photographer. Thank you, Sir, for your time and energy in using your talent for the team to enjoy. Hopefully everyone on the team has taken the opportunity to review and enjoy the pic’s, they are incredible.

Well, it’s the last week… I can think of some who are cheering… and some who are sad to see it come to the end. For now, we gotta focus on one final week of regular season training. Fortunately for all, this week is more relaxed as we taper a little more and then enjoy a special night on Thursday where we incorporate a little trick or treating with the run. The goal this week: STAY HEALTHY AND FEEL BETTER!!

Stay healthy means both running and by not getting sick. Pay attention to those kids sniffling and coughing and STAY AWAY FROM THEM!! You want to get to the last race and be able to give it your all. I’d encourage you to boost that immune system with some extra Emergen-C.

As for running, this isn’t the week to push to get faster. You’ve already done the work, so let’s have some good runs, but don’t over do it!  While you are enjoying the easier runs, watch for pinecones, rocks, and sticks.

Mentally, start gearing up now for the race of the year! Remember back to race week 2 when we had our invitational. Check your time and shoot for a PR. This is the true test of a PR for the season! So get after it, be ready for battle, and be ready to finish the season on top of the world!

I’m proud of every one of you. I’ve seen the effort you put in, the dedication, the commitment to be excellent, and being a great part of the team. We push as a team to the end and then we celebrate all our individual success together!

What a season it’s been! From the Killer Hill nights to Movie Hill, to Bell Curve, to Half-Mile Loop! I’m so proud of every athlete, and parent for your support, and coaches for your investment in making this the premier youth running team!

None of us can do this alone!

I’m sure coach Elaine will ask this week, but parents, we look forward to, and anticipate your great support to make the last meet a huge success! Please ask Coach Elaine what you can do to help. No one wants to take the burden of the whole meet on their shoulders, let’s kick it up a notch parents and let Coach Elaine not have to touch a single cone out there, just direct us where to go! It’s a long day for all of us, it’s the last meet, just plan to be there all day from setup to tear down and experience it all! 😊

Thanks everyone!

See you this week!

Coach Jeremy
