Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center Launches New Podcast

Come Rain or Shine is a podcast produced by the  SW Climate Adaptation Science Center  (SW CASC) and the  USDA Southwest Climate Hub . Each month, the podcast highlights stories sharing the most recent advances in climate science, weather, and climate adaptation and innovative practices to support resilient landscapes and communities. Episodes are published on the first Wednesday of every month.
Improving the Effectiveness of Early Warning Systems for Drought

Have you ever wished the tools available to help you make decisions during drought were... better? The Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) is working on a project to improve the access to and use of drought products, tools, and best practices in order to better address the drought and multi-hazard planning needs of regional and local decision-makers. As part of this work, the CEC is conducting a survey to identify and compare available drought information, products and tools in North America relative to local and regional preparedness, planning, and risk management. Dr. Derek Young is a postdoctoral researcher in the Latimer Lab at UC Davis, where he works on understanding the relationships between climate change, disturbance, and restoration in California’s forestlands.
