From the Desk of Ellen Knippel, Principal

Dear Parents,

I’d like to extend a huge Thank You to our teachers for their creativity in surviving our first week back. I have heard from many parents that it is “hard to have our kids stuck inside with all this cold weather” - multiply that by 28! The teachers have done a great job keeping the kids active while safe at the same time with a full week of indoor recess! – Thank you!

COVID update: As of this writing we have 9 active cases in our school. 13 students quarantining and will return upon negative tests early this week. It is imperative that you immediately let us know if your child has tested positive. I need to contact trace in the classroom ASAP to prevent the spread. I am doing all I can to keep our doors open - but I also need your help. Also, please let me know if your child(ren) tested positive over break.

Due to the need to social distance at Mass, we have returned to live streamed Mass for our 3K, 4K and 5K students. If you are opposed to having your child stay in their classroom for Mass, please let me know and I will make arrangements for them to sit with me during Mass.

MAP testing began today. We will work with families who are out to make up testing. Thanks for not scheduling appointments during this time. It is difficult for students to make up these tests and achieve the same results as if they were in their classroom settings. Please be sure your child is getting a good night's rest and eating a healthy breakfast.

Catholic Schools Week will soon be upon us. Look for details in next week’s newsletter! Catholic Schools Week is January 30 – February 4th.

Blessings!

Mrs. Ellen Knippel
