November 12, 2020
Dear Lovejoy Families,

Wow! We have had a beautiful week of weather, and our students have had an awesome week of learning. I am so proud of our 3rd and 4th graders for working hard this week on their Reading assessments.

Can you believe that we only have 6 "wake-ups" until Thanksgiving break? This is our halfway mark for the second nine weeks. Our 2nd - 4th grade parents will receive their child's progress report next Wednesday. This will allow you to know your child's strengths and areas of growth thus far for this nine weeks learning targets. It is also time for our parents to begin thinking about where they would like for their child to learn for the third nine weeks. Our window will open on Friday, November 20th. You only need to log into PowerSchool if you are choosing to CHANGE your child's learning environment. If you have any questions about the different learning environments, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Ruggeri, Mrs. George, or myself, and we will be more than happy to discuss this with you.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

All My Best,
Wendy Craft

7th Annual Letter Writing Campaign!
Lovejoy Family!! The 7th annual Lovejoy Letter Campaign for teachers and staff members has begun! Many of you are familiar with this beloved tradition, but for those of you who are not, it is the time of year when we write appreciation letters for each of our teachers and staff members across the district.

The letters do not have to be elaborate or lengthy. The goal is just for people to write a note of thanks to show appreciation to their teachers, the staff and administration in our district. It is the opportunity for us to take the time to let each person who makes a difference for us throughout the school day know how much we value them.

Please clearly label the envelope with the staff/teacher’s name and LLC (Lovejoy Letter Campaign) and return the letter to the box located at the top of the steps, next to the front door at Lovejoy Elementary no later than Friday November 13th. Please feel free to share this message as we spread the word about the campaign. We do not want to add any extra burden to our kids and parents, but we do want to share how much we appreciate our teachers and staff - especially this year in these very unusual times!

If you would like to email your letters, please send them to mary.farrell4@yahoo.com with the subject line “Letter Campaign.”
They will be printed out and given to the staff.

Athletic Tickets
There has been some confusion in regards to ticket sales, as in the past all students and staff have been allowed in free to all athletic contests (with school ID).  Due to UIL covid-19 attendance capacity limitation regulations we are forced to charge for entrance to all athletic contests for all staff and students. The tickets sales assist the athletic department in keeping with the capacity limitations required of us. If you have questions, please contact the Lovejoy Athletic Office.
