John 6:24-35
The next day, when the people who remained after the feeding of the five thousand saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they themselves got into the boats and went to Capernaum looking for Jesus.
When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?” Jesus answered them, “Very truly, I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For it is on him that God the Father has set his seal.” Then they said to him, “What must we do to perform the works of God?” Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” So they said to him, “What sign are you going to give us then, so that we may see it and believe you? What work are you performing? Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’” Then Jesus said to them, “Very truly, I tell you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” They said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.”
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

has accepted a position as Director of Choirs and Lecturer at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. Chris has been with Grace Church for eight years.

In this time of fear and anxiety, it can be easy to miss the daily blessings that are right in front of us. Being grateful is not just for good times. Being grateful is even more important when fear sets a place at your table and heartbreak seems to be in your every breath. Because by being grateful we become aware of all the ways God is working in us. Being grateful is a part of our healing and our deliverance. Being grateful is where our best selves reside.

We are approaching the midpoint of our internship. Pictured here is Paolo Paskin, one of our youngest interns who is chopping the ends off the kale bunches. Paolo has excelled in all aspects of farm work and provided much to discuss during our internship days. He has also come to work additional hours at the garden three times per week.
The plants in our field continue to grow with this nice week of mostly dry weather. We have now donated to the Sheffield Food Pantry, The Guthrie Center, South Congregational Church in Pittsfield, CHP and the Lee Pantry! Our broccoli is coming in strong and the tomatoes are now requiring daily attention. Thank you all for your continued support this year! May we continue to bring in a bounty to share with our community.

Berkshire Bounty Mobile Food Drive
Tuesday, August 3 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
We are preparing for our Food Drive on Tuesday, August 3rd from 9-11am. We hope to repeat or exceed last month's results of 1,100 lbs of needed canned and packaged goods for the schools. They were so appreciative, we decided to help them again in August!
We will again focus on collecting food for the families with children attending the Southern Berkshire Regional School District, Farmington River Regional School District and Berkshire Hills Regional School District. Each district continues to work closely with community organizations to help provide food to families in need this summer. This is in addition to South Congregational Church.
Berkshire Bounty volunteer Drivers go to Donors’ homes to pick up canned and/or packaged goods left by Donors on their doorstep. Food Donors may also drop their food donation at Hevreh of Southern Berkshire or at People’s Pantry.
We ask you to consider:
a) donating canned and/or packaged food;
b) driving to pick up donations at food donors’ homes; and/or,
c) helping unload food from drivers' cars as they deliver food on the day of the Mobile Food Drive
d) help sort and organize food for each district at People's Pantry.

It means the world to us knowing that your congregation has the backs of the Berkshire immigrant community, and that you understand the role that the Center plays in serving this important segment of our population. Meanwhile, I am thrilled to share that BIC will soon become an independent 501c3 organization for the first time in its history, after 24 years of fiscal sponsorship. In Genesis, God conferred dignity on all people by creating them in God’s own image–a belief that is shared by all Abrahamic faiths. We are grieved by recent discoveries of mass graves of Indigenous children on the grounds of former boarding schools, where Indigenous children experienced forced removal from their homes, assimilation and abuse. These acts of cultural genocide sought to erase these children’s identities as God’s beloved children.

A book from Fairview Hospital
This book highlights Fairview Hospital and the experiences of the hospital staff during the pandemic. The staff members reflect on their experiences during that challenging time.
Some noteworthy facts:
- Only 11 staff tested positive for Covid and it was community acquired.
- We never had a transmission from patient to staff or staff to staff/patients.
- We never furloughed or had a reduction in force. We redeployed staff to other needed roles: Greeters, testing, vaccine administration, making face shields.
