Newsletter for March 22nd, 2021
Greetings!

We are starting week 6 and the athletes are looking great and have been able to really step up at practice!! If you have just started welcome, you will see a big improvement in the coming weeks!! Please make sure you thank, and appreciate the coaches for great job they are doing.

Thank you to all the parents that have stepped up and helped at practice! We could not do it without you. We still need help setting up and cleaning up and at the later athletes candy table!

We still have not been giving any permits for the schools to train on the track but we hope in mid April one of them may open up.

The City is working of our field assignments for April and May right now. We may only be given the original 2 days a week at Central Park, Monday and Thursday for April, and Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in May. We will keep you posted as soon as the City sends us the final field assignments . We will also be moving field in April and May!

As the weather starts to warm up it is a great time to talk about Hydration!!

Hydration is key in maintain the health of all athletes! Dehydration is one of the major causes of drams and poor training performance in young athletes. Water is the best choice for hydrating while working out. Sports drinks can be good to replace salts that are lost from sweating, but watch out for the high sugar content and the presence of food dye that are in a lot of the popular sports drinks. If you must use sports drinks during practice, it is suggested that you dilute with plain water at a 50/50 ratio

We will be going through the certification process for all our athletes in the coming weeks so it is very important that if you are a new athlete to Storm and have not already sent in your birth document, we need it asap, you can click on the sign up link and up load it or bring a copy to practice.

If you have not made your payment please do so this week, as we will be dropping all athletes that have not paid or attended practices.

We have enough of the Jolly Ranchers and Jelly Beans for now ! thank you all for contributing!!

Safety is of the upmost importance for all our athletes, parents, and coaches.
We ask each parent to monitor their athlete's health and by bringing their athletes to practice they agree that their child is free from all Covid-19 systems, and has not been in contact with anyone that has had these symptoms or have been diagnosed with Covid -19, in the past 10 days . There will be a board up at every practice to remind you of them. We have also added the youth sports guidelines and symptoms below! Please inform us within 24 hours if you, or your child has been exposed to Covid - 19 or have tested positive and do not bring them to practice!

If an athlete exhibits any system they will be sent home. In addition we ask each athlete to follow the protocols below:
Check your Child temperature before practice ( should be below 1.04 degrees)
Wash hands before coming to practice
Wear a mask to practice, and to your practice pod. (these can be removed once we start our work out if wanted)
Keep 6 feet distance apart when not wearing a mask. Parents are also asked to keep their 6 feet distance and wear a mask and avoid grouping together while at practice. You can bring a chair and sit on the front sidelines if you want. Hand sanitizer will be available at each age group station.

You no longer need to sign up to help please just come a little early or stay to help clean up if possible

Our Distance team is in need of a few more parent monitors or runners! this is a great time to start getting in shape for the summer!! Please check in with the coaches at 6:00 if you can help!

If you are unable to help at practice you can pick up Jelly Beans and bags, from practice to bag at home!!
