Online Has Benefits
Along with the challenges of hosting classes online, we have also learned to enjoy the benefits! Commuting time into class is reduced to the time it take you to boot up Zoom, and no one has to pack and lug supplies into class - forgetting a color, brush, or project is a thing of the past!
We have students from all over the country--and even internationally-- and with no driving time, some individuals working from home have been able to fit an art class break into their day.
Faculty have their full gamut of supplies and examples at their disposal, and if (when?) you run out of coffee, you can just make another during class. The image above shows just some examples made for youth classes this summer - nice to have them all immediately accessible!
Fall classes will remain remote, but in our winter session we are planning to offer both in-person and online classes - letting the students decide what will best fit their needs. Now that you've seen in-person and online classes, which would you choose?
Cheers,
Elizabeth Buck

Sue Dion is a lifelong artist, raised just outside of Boston by a family of florists. She developed a sharp eye for beauty thanks to her upbringing, and has always found inspiration in floral images and nature.
Sue attended the Rhode Island School of Design as well as the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and is a certified Grumbacher instructor. Her work is currently represented by Complements Art Gallery in Smithfield, RI, and L’Attitude Gallery in Boston, MA. Her work can also be found in numerous collections, including Worcester Magazine.
A WAM Faculty member since 2014, Sue has taught a variety of watercolor, acrylic, and art marketing classes. She has a few new classes starting in August!

Utilizing elements of abstract expressionism and the impressionist practice of working
en plein air
in her oil, watercolor, and acrylic paintings, Sue's artwork is her greatest form of self expression. Using unique color, texture, and the poignant concept of “lost edges” to communicate through her work, Sue hopes her viewers will find emotional connections to her pieces.
An active humanitarian, Sue raises awareness for human trafficking issues by including related themes in her artwork.
Sue currently resides in Uxbridge, MA, and teaches in her private studios as well as at the Worcester Art Museum.
