This Beloved Bailey Gas Kiln is on the Move!
This is what the folks at MCG had to say just after purchasing their Bailey Gas Kiln:
"After thorough comparisons of commercial gas kilns, we purchased a Bailey FL DLX 28/18. The Bailey staff was very helpful in every respect, from the installation to firing techniques. In no time, we were getting consistent, beautiful results. We were stunned when we realized that a cone 10 reduction firing cost only $12. Our old kiln cost us $90! We also discovered it was much cheaper to fire a bisque load in the Bailey gas kiln compared to our electric kilns."
Years later, this Bailey Gas Kiln has proven to be a contributing factor in the Guild's success. This is what they have to say now:
"We have been so happy with our Bailey Gas Kiln! If you’re not at an art center or school it’s very rare to have access to a gas kiln in the Chicagoland area. It’s definitely attracted new members to our studio because they can use the kiln anytime they want and have the freedom to fire and experiment. Some of our group came from art centers and have never had the chance to fire themselves and learn to use a Gas Kiln. It helps our people take their studio practice to the next level. We do reduction and oxidation firings in our Bailey as well as saggar firing. With a Bailey Gas Kiln there are so many possibilities!"
