Camp Hale-Continental Divide National Monument is a Reality—Let's Keep Up the Momentum!

After years of hard work by the Broads national office, Colorado Broadbands, and our many coalition partners across the state, Camp Hale-Continental Divide National Monument is finally a reality!

On October 12, President Biden, using his authority under the Antiquities Act for the first time in his presidency, signed the monument into existence. The new monument located in central Colorado near Breckenridge preserves Camp Hale—a key winter training ground for American troops in World War II—as well as a vital section of the Tenmile Range along the Continental Divide considered one of the most important wildlife habitat and migration corridors in the country.

In addition, the Department of Interior began steps to remove 225,000 acres of threatened landscape in western Colorado's Thompson Divide area from oil, gas, and mineral leasing!
