Social distancing is not keeping the City of South Fulton from making more than half-a-million dollars in improvements to the city’s 24 tennis courts in need of repair at the South Fulton Tennis Center.
On April 7, contractors began the work to rebuild 20 hard-surface and four clay courts. The project, which will cost just under $557,000, is slated for completion in early August. It will include completely new playing surfaces, new striping, nets, poles and other equipment.
“This project will take our facility to the next level,” said Tony Phillips, director of the City of South Fulton’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs. “We are looking forward to it because this project will have a broad impact both for city residents and the metro-wide tennis community.” Watch the virtual news conference at left.
