  • Pick up is between 2:30 and 2:35pm each afternoon. At Pick-Up, please stay in the line of cars. Students should wait until the car is in front of the school or at front of line before getting into the car. Students should not be running through the parking lot to get to the car.

Head of School
Hello Marblehead Community Charter Families,

What an interesting week this has been, as we all collectively wait as a nation to know who the next president will be. It is clear from the election returns to date, that this country is divided. I am hopeful that whoever the president is come January 20, 2021, that the priority becomes uniting the people by focusing on those issues where agreement exists. Our leaders need to bring us together by ending the endless, divisive rhetoric and finding opportunities for compromise. Thankfully, it has been business as usual for us at school this week with the possible exception of some tired teachers, as many of us stayed up past our school night bedtimes.

Our bandwidth issues at the school have significantly improved after Verizon worked with us late last week. This is a big relief for us, as it allows us to more effectively teach in this Hybrid Learning phase. We are hearing of a few students who could benefit from improved computers at home, but we have reached our limit of Chromebook laptops to distribute to students for use at home. We will pursue the purchase of additional devices. In order to offset these kind of expenses, we really need 100% participation in our Student Success Fund. If you have not already done so, please plan to make your contribution today. If you would like to make a contribution, but need to work out a payment plan, please contact the school and we will assist with the set up of a plan. We are also less than a month away from #GivingTuesday. Please consider reaching out to grandparents or community members or your employer who may want to make a donation to the Marblehead Charter Education Fund. There are just three weeks to go until the Thanksgiving holiday. Please follow the guidance from the State regarding gatherings during the holiday, so that we can all stay healthy and minimize the risk of exposure to the virus. Thanksgiving also marks the end of the first trimester. Monday and Tuesday, November 23 & 24 will be remote learning days with Tuesday being a half day of school leading into the holiday. There will be no remote classes on Monday November 30, as teachers work on finalizing grades for the first trimester. Please be sure to stay connected with your child's teachers so that there are no surprises on the report cards. All teachers have been encouraged to be in touch with parents regularly to update you on student engagement and progress.

Thank you to those who have been sharing our Facebook posts. Thanks to your help we have had a couple of new students apply and enroll. We do still have space in Grades 7 and 8. Anytime you can share a Facebook post, it helps us tell our story and attract positive attention for our school.
