WANDERLUST WEEK!

Day 61:BoHo Foral Botanicals

During the past 3 months while staying safe-at-home you may have surprised yourself at what you've been able to accomplish. Some of you have completed house projects and others have built beautiful gardens.

Now that Kansas City has begun to gradually open, you might be thinking about going out to enjoy other gardens and parks even while socially distancing and wearing masks.

The following are two of our favorite gardens to either  enjoy online or venture out and carefully explore. What better way to celebrate Father's Day!

BUT FIRST!!  TA DA!!   Here is the name of the third winner on our journey around the world:

                      Laura Mountjoy

Congratulations, Laura we have sent you a $25 on-line gift card.  Hope you enjoy it!

Destinations:   Powell Gardens and Overland Park Arboretum

Begun in 1948, Powell Gardens seeks to be an experience that embraces the Midwest's spirit of place and inspires an appreciation for the importance of plants in our lives.

On June 9th, Powell Gardens began its next phase of reopening. If you'd like to enjoy your day outdoors, they're open from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. Advance tickets are required.

PG stream
In response to the pandemic, Powell Gardens is introducing new self-guided activities for families, curating a site-specific digital exhibition that supports re gional creative voices, and replacing  its sit-down restaurant with a dispersed food model spearheaded by Chef Michael Foust from the Kansas City restaurant, Black Sheep & Market

This new foodie experience will feature ingredients sourced
from the Heartland Harvest Garden, one of the nation's premiere edible gardens. Visitors will be able to order from Foust's 35-foot food truck (the 1953 Spartan RV made from aircraft metal fondly known as "Ethel") or pick up grab-and-go options to  enjoy across the Garden's 175 acres.

The 300-acre Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is an educational, recreational and cultural resource for the Kansas City region.

At the Arboretum, visitors may experience and explore 13
gardens that feature more than 1,700 species of plants, trails that traverse rocky bluffs, and bottom-land paths. There are 180 acres of prairie, home to native grasses and wildflowers.

Well, speaking of wild flowers,
What better way to bring summer flowers into your home than with new floral pillows!  Enjoy these pairings of some of our floral pillows with flowers from the Powell gardens:
