August 2022
Welcome, Students!
Fall 2022 is finally feeling a bit more like before 2020! I am so excited to be able to share in-person events and activities with you, see you walking across campus, and experience the human connection that makes this campus vibrant and diverse. After everything we have been through these past couple of years, the University Center for International Education (UCIE) is even more committed to your success. We are your home-away-from-home whether you are a new international student, a continuing student, or a student planning to go abroad. Know that UCIE is here to serve you!
You are the bravest of the brave. Not only have you made a decision to study in a different country to pursue your education, you have done so after a major global pandemic and during trying economic times in many countries. Your commitment to your future is admirable. Like the Wright Brothers, you are the innovators, the creators, and the entrepreneurs of our future. You represent the very best of Wright State and the world.
The staff of the UCIE are available to serve you Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm and can be reached through email or by phone at 937-775-5745. You may also join our various in person and virtual events and programming on-line this Fall Semester. Make sure you like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/WSU.UCIE.
We will do everything as an institution to provide the resources for your success and UCIE will continue to support you during your entire time at Wright State. Be proud of your accomplishments, but do not be afraid to reach out for help or just to talk to a friendly advocate in the UCIE. We are here for you and YOU ARE WELCOME HERE!
Have a wonderful start to this new semester!
Sincerely,
| |

This Week's Interesting Read | |
Alchemist by Paulo Cohelo
The Alchemist is a beautiful tale written by Paulo Cohelo about the protagonist Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd on a journey to Egypt after recurring dreams of finding treasures there. This novel is an allegory about a man fighting against all odds just to reach his fate, and achieve his desires and passion.
A perfect book for college students, The Alchemist teaches us to listen to and follow our hearts, recognize and work towards new opportunities, learn to identify and overcome any hurdles that are on the way, and most importantly to follow our dreams and life goals.
Do you have any recommendations you would like to share with other students?
