A Message from Rich and Mike
Dear Bishop Kelly Parents,

Three weeks from tonight is the 57th Commencement of Bishop Kelly High School. We continue to be grateful for the support from you, our parents, throughout this school year. We have had a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week here at BK, highlighted by lunch delivered by Del Taco and donated by the BKPA and Del Taco.

In this BK Alive, we will provide an update on spring sports and activities here at BK as we head into districts, give you an update on 2021-22 enrollment, and share the latest COVID-19 numbers here at BK.
Spring Sports and Activities at Bishop Kelly
IIt has been a busy spring here at BK with over 500 students involved in spring sports and competitions. As we begin a busy district championship week tomorrow, with varsity baseball and softball, along with JV for both sports first in line. Here is an update on how our teams and individual student athletes are doing so far:
  • Softball - both JV and Varsity are #1 seeds going into districts. JV plays their tournament semi final tomorrow morning at BK at 9am on the Varsity field against Emmett. A win would move them into the championship game on the main field at noon. Varsity plays Caldwell in districts !st round play at BK @ 3pm
  • Baseball - JV is #1 seed and Varsity is #2 seed. Like softball, JV tournament is tomorrow at Rodeo park in Nampa. BK play #4 seed Nampa at 9am. A win would move them into the championship game at 2pm. Varsity plays Nampa in districts !st round play at BK @ 1pm
  • Track & Field - we have record participation by BK students and strong individual performances (several school records have been broken). Both girls and boys finished runner-up yesterday at the Boise City championships with many outstanding performances. DIstrict championships are next Friday and Saturday here at BK. Events get underway Friday at noon.
  • Girls Lacrosse - both Varsity and JV teams are young and less experienced than in past years, but have lots of young talent with a bright future. JV team’s season has been completed and Varsity enters league tourneys in the coming weeks.
  • Boys Lacrosse - Varsity currently in first place with only one loss. Big game tonight at BK vs. Boise, JV at 5.30 and varsity at 7.30pm and then enter league and state tournaments the following weeks. JV is around .500 record and has had some nice wins.
  • Boys Golf - JV team won district last week and Varsity district is Monday at Centennial GC at 9am. They have had a good dual/tri match record in league and are in a good position to qualify for state.
  • Girls Golf - JV won district last week and Varsity district is Monday at Centennial GC at 11am. Have had good success in league matches and are poised to do well in district and qualify for state.
  • Tennis - strongest and deepest boys/girls/mixed team in several years and are hopeful to do well at districts this week. JV plays tomorrow at Caldwell & Vallivue HS and Varsity is next Thursday through Saturday.
  • Music Concerts - Orchestra and chorale will have their end-of-year senior concert on May 19th and band and guitar will have theris on May 21st. Both concerts will be here on campus.

Come out and watch our musicians perform and our athletes compete in district and hopefully state competitions before spring sports and activities all wrap up by May 22nd!

BK Sports Physicals Clinic - May 16th
Parents - It's time to make an appointment for your student's mandatory annual sports physical.

The BK Athletics Department is offering an opportunity for your student athlete to receive their sports physical for a great value (only $25!) Additionally, that $25 is a fundraiser for the BK Sports Medicine program, which helps us purchase supplies and equipment for BK athletes.

The BK Sports Physicals Clinic is taking place on Sunday, May 16th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Father Wilson Science and Technology Wing here on BK's campus. Athletes must bring their physical form filled out and signed by a parent, and the athlete and the $25 fee (cash or checks only, made out to BKHS).

STEP 1: Register for an Appointment

STEP 2: Complete the BK Physical Form
You can find this BK Physical Form on www.bkathletics.org in the "Athletic Forms" section. The Health History and signatures on the first page must be completed before the appointment. The second page is completed by our doctors and nurses. MAKE SURE YOU BRING THIS FORM WITH YOU TO YOUR APPOINTMENT.

The online appointment times are on a first come first served basis. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact BK Athletic trainer, Nate Sturlin (nsturlin@bk.org)
