The flowers are blooming on the Holcomb Tree Trail and our volunteers have already started spring planting. We have added Red Mulberries, Dawn Redwoods, several oaks, fruit trees, blueberries, as well as bird-friendly shrubs by the farm road.

This year we will install eight more interpretive signs and a trailhead kiosk. We also will be mowing our extensive network of meadow paths and continuing the battle to clear out the invasive plants that threaten the fields and hedgerows.

Join us for a guided tour of the tree trail on May 18 (rain date May 19) at 5:00 pm. The tour will be limited to 20 participants, please click here to RSVP.

The Holcomb Tree Trail is a Friends of Holcomb Farm (FOHF) program and all the work is done by passionate volunteers. FOHF funds the purchase of trees and related expenses through grants and tax-deductible donations from people like you who enjoy the trail and appreciate our efforts to create an arboretum in West Granby. Your donation will be specifically designated for the further development of the Holcomb Tree Trail, a great and growing community treasure at Holcomb Farm.

Please consider donating to the Tree Trail to help us to continue to plant trees and shrubs (including more bird-friendly species), add educational offerings, and aid our stewardship efforts in the fields on the east side of Holcomb Farm.

Thank you!

Right: One of the first trees to bloom on the trail is the Corneliancherry Dogwood.
