As we round the corner on another successful year, I want to first thank all of you for the hard work you put in to make your communities thrive. Your leadership, though often underappreciated, does not go unnoticed. I also want to thank those who have contributed to the unprecedented success of the California Contract Cities Association.
2022 has been a banner year for our growing family. Our two newest cities, Alhambra and Fontana, are a testament to our reach and influence in Southern California and Sacramento. We celebrated some legislative victories this year, but the work is far from over. We will need all of you to ensure we are doing all we can to ‘Strengthen Local Control’ for many years to come.
We will host our 6th Annual City Managers’ Summit on October 27th at the USC Hotel. This partnership couples policy with support from academic subject matter experts. You won’t want to miss this event geared toward city managers and department heads.
Finally, our staff is in the early stages of planning for our 2023 Sacramento Legislative Tour. We will be in Sacramento from January 9-11 to advocate for our cities. Your presence goes a long way to ensuring legislators hear our voices when we are advocating on your behalf. I hope to see you all there for two days of informative briefings and meetings with legislators.
From the Contract Cities family to yours, we wish you all a festive, safe, and memorable holiday season. See you all soon!
