We are featuring State and Local Education
This past school year has been brutal on students, parents, and the community at large. Changes need to be made, and seeds for a better outcome in education must be planted. Lets be a part of deciding that future by getting more involved!
Michelle Dombrosky, State Board of Education, District 3

Michelle represents Johnson County, Northern Miami and Franklin Counties, and Western Douglas County.

Her Committee Assignments include the Charter and Virtual Education Advisory Council, Kansas Learning First Alliance, liaison for Kansas School for the Deaf, and KSD/KNEA negotiations bargaining team.

Michelle graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in sociology with a minor in gerontology.

Michelle and her family have lived in Olathe since 2000. During that time, she volunteered in a variety of capacities, including teaching classes at Prince of Peace. She also served on the Prince of Peace Mothers of Ministry Board for three years, as well as two years on the Aldersgate Preschool Board. She and her husband have two school-age children.


Kaety Bowers, candidate for Blue Valley School Board, School District Member 4

Kaety and her husband have lived in Blue Valley for 12 years. They have 6 kids that are either attending school here or have graduated from the District. Currently they have one child at Blue Valley North, one at Overland Trail Middle School, and two at Wolf Springs Elementary.

She is a small business owner specializing in licensed Cosmetology, Paramedical tattooing, and certified Scalp Micropigmentation. In her specialty fields, she can replace lost eyebrows or hairlines due to cancer, alopecia, trichotillomania or the aging process.

Kaety has a caring spirit, and a desire to improve the present education challenges facing families in the Blue Valley School District.
