Reinhardt University continues to Shelter in Place

Gov. Brian Kemp extends Shelter in Place in Georgia

As Reinhardt University works to maintain a safe and healthy environment and comply with government-issued guidelines, the University is now functioning under the Shelter in Place guidelines as put in place by Gov. Brian Kemp on April 8. The new time frame will remain in effect until April 30, unless otherwise extended by the governor.

Students living in University housing should shelter in place in their assigned room only leaving for essentials like food and medical care. In all circumstances, students should maintain social distancing and follow the shelter in place guidelines, according to the governor's action.

Campus Dining continues at The Nook with to-go service only. The Hill Freeman & Spruill Learning Center is now closed, but the 24-hour area will remain open for student access.
Dr. Wayne Glowka retires from more than a decade at Reinhardt

Since 2007, Dr. Wayne Glowka, dean of the School of Arts & Humanities, has brought his knowledge and expertise to every role he fulfilled. Throughout his time at Reinhardt, he explored his creativity through organizing playwright festivals, research and writing, and editing publications. Dr. Mark Roberts, acting president, provost and executive vice president, describes Glowka as "true colleague," saying "When Wayne Glowka joined Reinhardt, the University became better as he worked among our ranks; we lose a bit of luster as he makes his exit."  ... Distance learning as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic put many students and professors in a position of new and unexpected challenges to overcome. Frances Hardin leaves gift for scholarship and Funk Heritage Center

As an alumna of Reinhardt University and a dedicated patron to the Funk Heritage Center, the late Frances Hardin left more than $135,000 as a gift to contribute to student scholarships and to benefit the Funk Heritage Center, her favorite museum. Hardin held a passion for education and wanted students to have the opportunity to learn the way she did. Her legacy will continue in the lives of the students who benefit from her generous donation and in the experiences visitors have at the Funk Heritage Center. ... Read More
#FacultyFriday: Dr. Linda Morgan goes above and beyond call of duty

Dr. Linda Morgan, associate professor of nursing, started teaching to bring a well-rounded education to her students, including care and passion. Morgan hopes her students realize through her examples in and out of the classroom. Not only does Morgan preach the golden rule to her students, she lives it out in a big way. She continued her caring attitude into her role as interim dean for the Cauble School of Nursing & Health Sciences, providing leadership and direction to guide the school during a time of transition. ... Summer Term classes to be held online
Reinhardt leadership announced Friday that Summer Term 2020 will be conducted online this summer. Registration is underway, and students can register through the drop/add period. Summer classes begin Monday, May 4. ... Read More
Housing applications for 2020-2021 are now open

Students interested in residential housing during the 2020-2021 academic year should submit their housing applications as soon as possible. Housing selections are first-come, first-serve based on credit hours. Please submit your applications by the following deadlines:
  • Squatters (residents remaining in current housing assignment) deadline: April 10 by 12 p.m.
  • 90+ credits: April 15 by 5 p.m.
  • 60-89 credits: April 16 by 5 p.m.
  • 0-59 credits: April 17 by 5 p.m.

All applications submitted after the the appropriate deadlines will be randomly assigned.

Monday Memory: Epic comeback highlights Reinhardt softball's upset of No. 2 Columbia

This week's Monday Memory took place on March 3, 2018 in Gulf Shores, Alabama, where a combined nine runs in the final two innings helped the 14th-ranked Reinhardt softball team walk-off with victory over No. 2 Columbia, 13-12, in the third game of the Gulf Shores Tournament in which there were a combined 32 hits between the two schools. ...
