Weekly Director Letter 07/29/2022
Dear Parents,

In the blink of an eye we say goodbye to July and welcome August on Monday. It is hard to believe that there are only 9 days of camp left before we switch gears and celebrate back to school.

We are busy planning a great back to school event for our families. As mentioned earlier, we are closed on Friday, August 12th. The teachers will finish preparing their rooms in the morning followed by staff training.

We will welcome parents to come any time between 3:00-5:45. Please be sure to sign up for a time on the white bulletin board outside the school. If you are one of our FUTURE STUDENTS getting this letter, feel free to call or stop by so that we can get you signed up for a time slot.

There will only be 3 families for each 20 minute timeslot so that we can be COVID safe. We ask that the only children that attend are those who are new and have not been here over the summer to meet the teachers and see the classrooms.  The teachers will be going over the class routine and answering any questions you may have.

Also at the orientation, you will get the class schedule and other first day of school reminders, the meal menu, and the school calendar along with some other little gifts.

The Jungle Gym Birthday Party Bus will be here so that parents can see an option for their child's birthday while they are at school. The Miami Dade Library, Country Walk Branch will also be here with a table. They will be doing a monthly storytelling class for our main wing classes.

If you have a business or craft, any non food item, and would like to have a free table to share your business with the families at our school, I invite you to do that. Simply send me an email and let me know what you will be sharing with families so I can set up a map for anyone who is interested. There is not charge, but you will need to bring your own table...I have chairs.

Finally, over the next two weeks we will be giving out new school bags, pillows, and blankets and will have pillowcases and school uniforms for sale. Students do not need a school bag or anything from home, we will provide everything your child needs. This includes our kids in Kindergarten and First
Grade. No backpacks please, they only get in the way. Those kids will also get a school bag to put their homework binders in.

Finally, for the families who bought Mega Million tickets for Saturday's drawing, the school purchased 160 tickets. Good luck to everyone!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Beth Rosenthal Davis, Ed.S, NBCT
