Message from the Board -
Dear Kona Kai Members -
We have lots to report this month. Firstly, we had our first ever virtual AGM this year! If you missed it and would like to see the slide deck please ask Sharon to send you the link.
We said goodbye and thank you to Brian Getz, Loraine Orozco and Weimin Huang, they were awesome Board members in very challenging circumstances and we appreciate their time and dedication to the Club. If you see them around please be sure to thank them for their service.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to -
Paul Fahn - Membership and Communication
Craig Murata - Treasurer
Stephen Chen - Board Liaison
As many of you will notice we have a new Board position this year. The position of Board Liaison was created to help ensure that the Club maintains a uniformity of policy regarding reopening and use during the Covid-19 pandemic. The goal is to have a Board contact person with both the Swim Committee and the Tennis Committee to help us stay informed of issues and concerns as they arise so that we can ensure solutions are implemented on a club wide basis.
The position of Social Director will be reinstituted as soon as we are once again able to host events at the Club.
As most of you know the Club will be closed on Thanksgiving Day so that our hardworking staff can enjoy a well deserved break. Normal hours will resume on Friday, November 27th. We will make a decision about holiday hours at the November Board meeting and will let everyone know what to expect as soon as we can.
Our next Board meeting is scheduled for November 16th at 7 pm. All are welcome, just contact Sharon in the office to get a Zoom invite.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for working so cooperatively with us as we try to reopen as quickly and safely as possible. These are very difficult times and we understand the frustration that many of you feel about the restrictions that are in place right now. Our commitment to you is that we will reopen as quickly as we can as soon as County restrictions are lifted. Your cooperation has made these very difficult decisions so much easier and we appreciate that. Thank you all!
We will be putting out surveys soon - look for those to share your feedback.
We wish everyone a safe and healthy Thanksgiving break.
