Dear Parents:
We are busy getting ready for the end-of-the year, which includes testing mixed with some fun events as well. April 29 is “Poem in Your Pocket Day,” Teacher Appreciation Week the first week in May… the annual Golf Tournament, Field Day, and the Color Run, all before and including the last day of school!
Our students are doing well and working hard. As we prepare for STAAR tests in May, we also work hard to minimize any stress involved with testing. As we work towards summer vacation, we will stay the course with our students and remember they are the reason we are all here. They have been troopers this year for sure, and we love them so much!
Proud to be a Knight,
Marsha Cawthon

3rd - 5th grade in-person classes will be having a VIRTUAL SPRING CONCERT! The class will be recorded performing their spring music, and a few days later you'll receive a link to their videos. The virtual concert/recording day is THURSDAY, APRIL 29TH.
Concert/Recording Day Attire: Formalwear or special-occasion-wear with spring colors/pastels. This means boys should wear khakis or slacks and a button-up shirt. Girls may wear khakis/slacks and a blouse, a dress, or skirt combo. All spring theme!
Concert videos will only be shared to the Trivium community. It will not be shared on any public space such as YouTube – only those with the link will have access to it. You can share the video via private message to friends or family, but cannot post it on any public forum such as Facebook. We will be spaced appropriately during the performance, masks will remain on, and any materials we use will be sanitized. We have some great young musicians, and we can't wait for you to hear them!

First grade students learned all about Texas this week with art projects, writing, experiments, line dancing, and dress up days! Students read Armadillo Chili and then made their own Texas chili to learn about culture and food in Texas! We have some pretty cute cowboys and cowgirls! Thank you to the 1st grade team for making Texas week a fun tradition for our 1st graders.

Meanwhile our 4th grade team transformed their classrooms into dinosaur research facilities, decorations and t-shirts included! Our young researchers traveled to “Draftstic Park” where they reviewed writing skills with engaging (and sometimes messy) activities!
Covid has taken a lot away from all of us this year, but we remain in awe of the dedication that our teachers show every day to create fun, meaningful learning experiences that allow our students to continue making memories together! It really is good to be a Knight!

Mr. Williams graduated with a Bachelors in Music Composition from the University of Texas at Arlington. After graduation, he travelled to South Korea for a missions trip and discovered he had a love for learning and teaching foreign language. After attaining fluency in Korean and running an ESL academy for 4 years, Mr. Williams returned to the U.S., wife and children in tow. He intended to apply for an ESL job but was contacted by Trivium to help develop their band program. Mr. Willams jumped at the opportunity for a job that combines his passion for both music and teaching. In spite of COVID-related setbacks, Trivium Band has managed to put on its first marching band show and Christmas parade and is now preparing a spring concert with pieces for full band, soloists and small ensembles. Mr. Williams is a proud Knight and is looking forward to the future of the Trivium band program!

We're so proud of our track stars. They really showed up and competed well at the charter league track meet.. We had quite a few athletes qualify for the state meet on May 1. Way to go, Knights!

Our first Read-a-thon was a success! Thank you to all our fabulous readers and to all of you who donated. As a school we read a total of 58,120 minutes and raised $2790 of which we will get $2,232 to use to purchase new books for the library!
Over the next few weeks our students will have the opportunity to help decide which books we are going to purchase.
If you haven't donated already and would like to, donations will be accepted on the Read-a-thon website until 5/1/2021.
