Fauquier Community Theatre presents SUPERHEROES!
Coming soon in Summer 2021

Directed by Katy Benko Miner, the comedy Superheroes is performed by the students of the FCT PACE (Performing Arts Continuing Education) Program. Youth ages 8 to 13 take on multiple roles including Batman and Robin, Superman, Spiderman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and more! The play will be streamed online this summer and is produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc.

Synopsis: For superheroes, saving the world is tough, but the time spent away from work is tougher. The Hulk has to do taxes, a crime-fighting sidekick joins a support group, and Batman goes stir-crazy without enough criminals to take down. SUPERHEROES is a funny, fast-paced series of vignettes that explores how the caped crusaders deal with life in street clothes.
EMMA: A POP MUSICAL

Rehearsals online continue with great success. The cast of 19 actors/singers is so highly talented that recordings sound like a Broadway show. The cast is using new technology that makes for an experience like almost being there all together!

Director Steve McBride brings so much creativity to the show! Audiences are sure to enjoy every scene and song. The show streams online in summer 2021. More information and tickets coming soon.

Synopsis: Emma is a senior at Highbury Prep, and certain she knows what’s best for her classmates’ love lives, and is determined to find the perfect boyfriend for shy sophomore Harriet by the end of the school year. But will Emma’s relentless matchmaking get in the way of finding her own happiness? Based on Jane Austen’s classic novel, this sparkling new musical features the hit songs of legendary girl groups and iconic female singers from The Supremes to Katy Perry. Songs include "You Can't Hurry Love", "Girls Just Want to Have Fun", "How Will I Know", "Turn the Beat Around" and "Roar."
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR
Tentatively Set for September 2021
Jesus Christ Superstar may be opening in September 2021 with outdoor performances. Rehearsals have been online and will gradually move to in-person. Be ready for director Matt Moore to bring this musical to outdoor theatre that adds in so many new options to wow audiences! More information coming soon. Current ticket holders from the postponed show in 2020 will be notified first for ticketing and options.
DIRECTING AT FCT

Interested in directing a show at FCT? Directors are chosen year round through a proposal process and all are welcome to participate. After all, Fauquier Community Theatre is your community theatre and new ideas are encouraged. Join the team of creativity whether proposing an online production, or on stage play or musical. FCT has been producing theatre and serving the community for 43 years. Thank you to the past and current directors who have kept the shows going. One week – Take Center Stage Summer Camp: July 12 – 16, 2021. FCT Showcase Camp is directed by Helen Messick who has assisted with FCT productions for many years. The camp takes place from July 12 to July 16, 2021 for ages 8-16. Summer camp will be run virtually online, primarily between the hours of 10 am and 2:30 pm with flexibility/customization of other times of the day. This one-week fun and educational camp is designed to showcase the talents of young performers. Basically, it is the intersection of theatre, music, and film with the final performance of the youth starring in their own show! Camp will consist of acting, singing, and choreography options. All registrations will be accepted and each camper will be “showcased” in songs, scenes and roles. For more information and to register click HERE

Two week – The Enchanted Bookshop Summer Theater Camp:
July 19 – 30, 2021. Welcome to summer fun with Fauquier Community Theatre! FCT Presents The Enchanted Bookshop Production Theater Camp directed by local actress and director Adriana Bustamante. The camp takes place online from July 19 to July 30, 2021 between the hours of 10 am and 3 pm (with flexibility) for ages 6-16. Depending on the health pandemic, there may be in-person optional activities. Note that this year’s selection is a delightful play with enchanting characters like Dorothy Gale, Heidi, Pollyanna, Queen of Hearts, Robin Hood, Tom Sawyer, Sherlock Holmes, Doctor Doolittle and more! During the day, A Likely Story Bookshop may look like any other used bookstore. But at night, it’s a place where magic happens. That’s when the characters inside the books come alive. The play will also include some music so it is perfect for those who may just want to act or act and sing. Yes, that's right, FCT is changing the month of the annual meeting. Not only does it coincide better with FCT's fiscal year that ends June 30th, it also adds extra pizzazz to summer events! This year's meeting will take place online. More details and exact date will follow.
