Government Announcements Federal: The Canada-US border will remain closed for another 30 days. The next review is set to take place July 21st, with possibility for extension. The CEBA eligibility criteria changes and the new forms will be available through all participating financial institutions as of Friday June 19th. The CERB benefit has also been extended and will remain available for another 8 weeks. Provincial: Friday, the Government of Ontario announced the beginning of social circles. Social circles are gathering of 10 individuals who can gather without needing to socially distance. Gathering restrictions of 10 individuals with social distancing continue to apply if you are with individuals from outside your household or your social circle. The Ontario government is providing employers with a new general workplace guide, which will help them develop a safety plan to better protect workers, customers and clients. The new downloadable toolkit offers tips on how to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

TIAO SURVEY 6.0 Survey 6.0 is now open until Friday June 19th at 8 am. As many tourism businesses are beginning to prepare for reopening we remind you that data on the impact of COVID-19 to your operations is more critical than ever. The data we collect here will be used to let all levels of government know which tourism businesses are at risk and what kinds of economic supports must be continued into the next stages of reopening.  TIAO will use this data in official written submission to the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs, and in our direct meetings with provincial Ministers in August.  Please help us best represent you and your interests, and take a few minutes to fill out our survey.
