Labor day is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. We want to thank all of our local businesses for the contributions they have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our community!

The Environmental Learning Center is located just minutes from Sebastian on County Road 510 at the foot of the Wabasso Bridge. The nonprofit nature center is a destination for water activities, walking trails, and wellness programs.
With a mission to educate, inspire and empower all people to be active stewards of the environment and their own well-being, ELC is committed to sharing the importance of protecting and restoring our natural resources. The ELC experience connects visitors with nature on our 64-acre campus and the Indian River Lagoon. School groups, families, neighborhood associations, and clubs enjoy spending the day with a customized agenda including private pontoon trips planned through Guest Services. The most exciting news from ELC is the completion of the Thomas R. Schidel Education and Event Pavilion in April of this year. Funded by a generous gift, the pavilion brings new opportunities to ELC as the space is used for education, events, and as a celebration destination.
The Environmental Learning Center is open seven days a week and each visit is a new experience. It is time to unplug, discover and connect at Indian River County’s lagoon island nature center.
