Roslyn Public Schools
SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS

May 22, 2020
Dear Roslyn Families,

As a reminder, there will be no remote learning on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. I will have information for you by June 1st about an adjusted calendar for the remainder of the school year.

The Board of Education adopted the proposed school budget for 2020-2021 earlier this week. The school budget is probably far from most people's minds right now, but it is a blueprint for every single thing we do and therefore critically important to the operation of the school district. The annual budget vote, which is normally on the third Tuesday in May, has been rescheduled by the Governor on Tuesday, June 9. All voting will be conducted by mail-in ballot. Every qualified voter in the district will receive a ballot in the mail, with a postage-paid return envelope. Ballots must be mailed back and received by 5:00pm on Tuesday, June 9.

You can find information about the proposed budget on our website. The budget supports current instructional, athletic and extra-curricular programs, and maintains our long-standing tradition of high academic standards. In addition, it falls well below New York's tax levy limit, and continues the district's ongoing programs of capital and security improvements district-wide, as well as additional health and safety measures.

If you are not registered to vote, you can do so online through the Department of Motor Vehicles: https://dmv.ny.gov/more-info/electronic-voter-registration-application.

I wish everyone a relaxing holiday weekend. Stay safe and stay strong, Roslyn.

Sincerely,
Allison Brown

The annual school budget vote & election has been rescheduled on Tuesday, June 9, 2000. Voting will be by mail-in ballot only. All qualified voters will be sent a ballot.
