Health Equity among Black Women in the United States
Black women experience disproportionally poor health outcomes. This disparity is due to racism, barriers to Black women's quality health care, and the stress that comes with Black womanhood in U.S. society.
Power of the Purse Starts April 30

Power of the Purse is our annual fundraiser for the Brighter Future Fund, which supports women and children's workforce readiness. Starting April 30, bid on more than 90 auction items — including purses, gift baskets, and gift certificates — enter our wine pull to win one of 60 different wines, and participate in a raffle to win one of our purse sets.
Women are more likely to thrive at nonprofits that build an inclusive culture. Rooting an organization in openness, equality and belonging also supports its long term success and financial stability.

National Women’s History Month traces its roots to March 8, 1857, when women from various New York City factories staged a protest over poor working conditions.

“Working women have led the fight against coronavirus, but millions of them are stuck in low paid and insecure jobs,” O'Grady said. “We need a reckoning on how we value and reward women’s work.”
