Fall Is Here!!

Hello Knightdale! Technically, the official first day of fall is tomorrow, but we're close enough! I wanted to take a few moments to share what's been going on with our citizens and community.

Knightdale Hosts Wake County

Listening Session

Knightdale citizens joined municipal, county, state and law enforcement leaders on September 13 to share their feedback on proposed updates to Wake County’s firearms ordinance regulating outdoor shooting in the unincorporated areas of the county.

Public safety is a pillar of the Knightdale Strategic Plan. I am always open to engagement and public dialogue when it comes to our citizens feeling comfortable and safe in their communities and homes. Thank you to the Wake County Board of Commissioners for coming to our town for this important event.

The Knightdale High School

Business Alliance Convenes!

I want to send thanks to Laura Wright for inviting me to the Knightdale High School Business Alliance kick-off meeting!

The KHS Business Alliance/Career Readiness Alliance in partnership with the Knightdale Chamber of Commerce, meets regularly to review and create events and opportunities that impact students and increase their college and career readiness. I'm grateful to all the participants and Laura Wright, Coordinator, for their service to our high school students!

Mayor Day Meets the Sheriffs!

The N.C. Transit Workers Association invited me to introduce the moderator of the 2022 Mid-Term Election Wake County Sheriff's Political Candidates Forum, and I couldn't have been more honored to be selected.

The moderator was none other than our own N.C. House of Representatives member, James Roberson. The sheriff candidates were extremely engaging, and the dialogue and responses between them and local citizens were insightful. Thank you to Mr. Dwight Spencer, NCTWA Executive Director, for this invitation.

K-Fest 2022 Was A Huge Success!

I couldn't be more thrilled with the results of our 2022 Knightdale Arts and Education Festival, aka K-Fest. The community came out in full force, and everyone had a wonderful time!

I loved seeing the kids on the inflatables and our local vendors and businesses talking to everyone. But I was most excited about giving out over 300 bookbags full of school supplies to our Knightdale students!

We concluded the K-Fest evening activities with some great live music from The Nigel Experience and the Jus Once Band, and we also had several scholarship giveaways to students attending Wake Tech Community College, NC A&T State University, and Shaw University!

I'm extremely grateful to our Town Council, all of our sponsors, the local businesses, food truck vendors, Knightdale town staff, and all of the community members who came out to enjoy the day.

Let's do it again next year!

Upcoming Events

I hope you can join me at the following Town events!

Hayrides and pumpkins and scarecrows...OH MY! I hope you'll come out to Knightdale Station Park for our Fall on First Avenue event on Saturday, October 8, from noon until 4 pm.
