THIS SUNDAY'S SERVICE
KIRI FAGEN-ULMSCHNEIDER
Sunday, July 11 at 10:15 a.m. via Livestream

As the centerpiece of our worship services this summer, the Worship Committee has crafted a Wellspring series that honors the connections that members of our congregation have to other religious traditions. To begin this series, lifelong UUs share how Unitarian Universalism has been a wellspring in their lives. We invite all to reflect on the spiritual traditions and practices that enrich your own lives.
SUBMITTING JOYS AND SORROWS

Please send your joys or sorrows to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org any time before the Joys and Sorrows portion of the service. They will be read aloud.
FELLOWSHIP HOUR BEGINS IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE SERVICE

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!
Your contributions and support allow us to continue to respond with love and resources to the needs in our congregation and the wider community. We couldn’t do it without your support and we are grateful to each of you.

UPCOMING SUNDAY SERVICES
JANET REVELL BARRETT
Sunday, July 18 at 10:15 a.m. via Livestream

As the centerpiece of our worship services this summer, our UU Church Worship Committee has crafted a Wellspring series that features other religious traditions and their connections to UU faith traditions. We view this series as educational and constructive; uplifting and inspirational. Today’s service engages the spiritual histories and reflections of UUCUC members Lane Schwartz and Andy Townsend and the ways that Christian perspectives have guided their pathways as Unitarian Universalists.

OUR CARING CONGREGATION
Please consider donating to the Little Free Pantries run by Julie Laut and AJ Herzog, which they have kept active daily since late spring. In order to address increased and unique needs this winter, they have created an Amazon wish list. All items will be delivered to Julie's house and shared between the two pantries. Donations of all items will continue to be accepted as usual at both locations, if you want to bring them in person.

Thank you for your support and generosity ~ Julie and AJ
JOYS AND SORROWS sent to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org last Sunday, July 4.
From Michele Townsend Grove: Thoughts and Prayers for all those impacted by the tragic collapse of the building in Surfside, Florida. May we find a better way to take care of our communities and our people.

From Ali Newbold: While I’m glad my daughter will visit for two days, I’m dismayed about lack of treatment due to serious drug side preventing treatment for more than a month,- which unfortunately followed unrecognized prior treatment failure for the previous six months, - so Ive been unprotected a long time from this very now aggressive disease. And feel medically abandoned as even my cooperating local medic has not had any (needed treatment change instruction) communication from my (Unavailable for weeks) Chicago ‘Star oncologist.’ So I truly need healing prayers

From Jenny: Sorrow that over 6,000 people lost their lives to COVID in the month of June. Most, if not all, of these were preventable. May there be an awakening to the need for vaccinations. Even though we did not reach President Biden’s vaccinations goal, we have responded enough that families and friends are able to join face to face for this holiday. May we enjoy our freedoms yet stay safe.

From Samuel Beshers: Joy and gratitude for those who fought for our freedoms, and for
those who fight still.

Please send your joys or sorrows to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org any time before the Joys and Sorrows portion of the service. They will be read aloud.
GIVING AND GRATITUDE
UUCUC Social Action Offering. Each month a selected organization is chosen to receive offerings from our congregation. You may donate to the social action offering for the month in one of the following ways:

During the month of July, we will support First Followers, which is a community-based organization that operates a drop-in center located at Bethel A.M.E. Church, located at 401 E. Park Street in Champaign, IL.

Although they are not a faith-based program, Bethel's pastors welcomed First Followers into their home.

First Followers’ mission is to build strong and peaceful communities by providing support, guidance, and hope to formerly incarcerated people and their loved ones through peer mentorship. They offer: a safe stigma free environment; peer mentoring; assistance with employment searches; workforce development for emerging adults; advocacy for individuals with felony convictions; family reunification; service referrals.
RECENT SHARED OFFERINGS

During the month of June 2021, the Greater Community AIDS Project was selected to be the recipient of the shared offering. As of June 23, the UUCUC congregation contributed a total of $1,627.50.
